- "It Was Fantastic!" 24 September 2015
It didn't take long for the social media fallout to get underway following an awesome night at The Half Moon, Putney, on Tuesday which saw the excellent Blues Rock of young support band Southbound (pictured and our Vid Of The Day) complemented by the loud, dirty, fun and raunchy Classic Rock of headliners Shooter at their 'Recycled Teenagers' launch party. What a great night - two excellent bands for the price of one! Southbound tweeted "Wonderful gig last night at @HalfmoonPutney with @SHOOTERtheBand @WRINKLYCLUB @RockontheRidge Great Venue too #gig" whilst Shooter not only tweeted "@HalfmoonPutney you were awesome thx @RockontheRidge @WRINKLYCLUB and thx to an awesome support band @bandsouthbound" but also made a Facebook posting "Thanks to AJ and the Wrinkly Rockers Club - check out their website for vids and reviews!" Anyway watch this space for a review and pics from Jules and Bob respectively from the Rock On The Ridge team - Bob summing up the evening in three simple words: "It was fantastic!".
- "That's It, I Quit!" 5 August 2015
Don't worry - it's just the title of our Vid Of The Day performed by our mates The Hexmen at the 'Almost Blues Festival' in Dundee! Founded by frontman, vocalist and harmonica player George Hexman in the late 70's, joining forces with major movers and shakers of the Liverpool music scene, they have always been known as a Blues band, although The Hexmen’s material is not that easy to categorise. The band’s music is Blues based certainly but the defining quality of The Hexmen has always been energy with an aggressive, indie edge and a psychedelic undercurrent that lends extra dimensions to the music. The current band members have an exciting pedigree. George himself (also a much sought after session Blues harp player) - on guitar Ian Fuller, one of the UK's foremost Blues guitarists who has played alongside some of the greats including Steve Gibbons - and bass player Mike Cain and Mat Shaw on drums who previously gigged together for over 25 years before joining The Hexmen.

- Revved-Up Adams! 12/5/16
"Steeped unashamedly in the realms of Dad Rock, the 56-year-old Adams performed a selection of the biggest hits from his 13-album catalogue with remarkable energy, repeatedly high tailing it from one end of the stage to the other during several guitar solos. There were also a few less-well-known, fan-requested numbers and some material from his 13th and latest album, for form’s sake, all of which were politely received by the crowd. But it was clear, and he didn't do much to hide the fact, that this was a night mostly geared at the revved-up rockers in his catalogue." Read the rest of Wrinkly The Silver's Bryan Adams O2 Arena review here plus check out our Vid Of The Day.

- Norway Nil Points (Not) 11/4/16
We suppose it was a bit of any irony that the runners and riders in the 6th European Blues Challenge in the beautiful town of Torrita di Siena, Italy, was decided on the same Saturday evening as the Grand National. The bad news being, despite doing the UK proud, Red Butler (picture: John Bull) were unplaced - the winners being Eric 'Slim' Zahl and The South West Swingers from Norway, with the Netherlands Phil Bees Freedom second and Germany's Wellbad (see our Vid Of The Day) third. The good news is of course that Red Butler are appearing at our WRC BluesRockFest at Leo's Red Lion in Gravesend on Saturday 24th September.
