Meanwhile, our 'Video Of The Day' is a track from Joe's recently released DVD, Blu-ray and CD - 'Muddy Wolf At Red Rocks'. A tribute to Blues legends Muddy Waters and Howlin’ Wolf - it was filmed at Red Rocks Amphitheatre over American Labor Day weekend in 2014. Playing to a sold-out crowd of 9,000 fans, this marks the biggest show of Bonamassa’s career, a major milestone for the Bluesman. The Blu-ray and DVD contains over one and half hours of bonus features including exclusive behind-the-scenes footage, photo gallery, historic footage of Muddy Waters and Howlin’ Wolf and a featurette of Bonamassa and producer Kevin Shirley’s trip to The Crossroads.

Catfish (our Vid Of The Day) are now the fifth band to be officially announced as part our 2016 WRC BluesRockFest bill taking place at Leo's Red Lion, Gravesend, on Saturday 24th September. Alongside headliners The Stevie Nimmo Trio, 2015 WRC Award winners The Mentulls, Red Butler and Jack J Hutchinson - their debut album 'So Many Roads' went straight to No. 1 in the IBBA blues airplay charts on its release in January 2015. Within their first year, Catfish were nominated twice as finalists in the 2015 British Blues Awards - in the 'Emerging Artist' category plus Paul Long for keyboards! Remember that Earlybird Tickets are now on sale for a limited time here for £15 (instead of £20). WRC Members only pay £15 - so why not head off here to sign up for free. Vocal & bass guitar legend Glenn Hughes (see our Vid Of The Day) will be on the Route 66 show tonight chatting to Rory Auskerry about his love of playing live, his time working with Joe Bonamassa (pictured with Hughes with Black Country Communion at High Voltage in 2011), California Breed, Deep Purple and Trapeze plus his advice for young musicians. All that plus some great music from across his 40+ year career on Route 66 here from 6pm!

The Underworld rocked as Buffalo Summer (Vid Of The Day), Scorpion Child (pictured) and headliners Crobot blew the bloody roof off of the Camden venue on Friday night. Whilst both Buffalo Summer and Scorpion Child superbly showcased their 'Zep' influences - Crobot's energetic performance was a dream for anyone into Creed, Wolfmother and Velvet Revolver! The lead singer and frontman of Scottish Rock band Gun Dante Gizzi joined Rory Auskerry for an interview on his Route 66 show last Sunday. Listen to our Track Of The Day as they discuss the band's new album 'Frantic', as well as the forthcoming tour - plus a new bonus single, their rockin' cover of the Hot Chocolate hit, 'Everyone's A Winner'. Also this week there are tracks from some of this year's British Blues Award winners and plenty of classic rock gold as well including tracks from Jimi Hendrix, The Jeff Healey Band, Travis Tritt, Bernie Marsden (pictured) and more.

It's always nice when the WRC get some good feeback such as the recent tweet we got from Phillip Foxley - "Hey guys thanks for including me on your 'Introducing ...' page. I'm in great company with these great artists/ bands!" Keith Howe of Blacktop Deluxe has also been in touch - "Love your work guys" - so it was also good to hear from Keith's mate Pete Lovett and his band Midnight Blues Train - our 'Track Of The Day' and the latest band in our 'Introducing ...' feature. Midnight Blues Train play Powerhouse Blues Rock - a blend of originals and covers, inspired by Joe Bonamassa, Kenny Wayne Shepherd, Led Zeppelin, Gary Moore, ZZ Top, Free, Etta James, Humble Pie and other Blues giants!

We didn't really want to say we told you so but the WRC actually did tell you at the end of 2013! Namely Leogun - a three-piece band from South East London, surging with a mix of blues, soul and a whole lotta Rock and Roll - were nominated in not one but two 2013 Award categories - Best Rock Performance plus One's To Watch. Now just over a year later they are supporting American Rock legends Lynyrd Skynyrd no less at the Hammersmith Apollo on Thursday 23rd April. Appropriately our 'Video Of The Day' is the first time we say them in their 'manor' in the Summer of 2013. Well done guys - look forward to seeing you on the 23rd!
