- Razamanaz! 3 September 2015
The first time we saw Nazareth was at The Great British Music Festival at Olympia in London! It was a 3 day event and for £3.50 each day you could see some of the best bands of all time. Our overriding memories of the day were seeing Ronnie Lane's Slim Chance who had just formed after the split of The Faces (still going strong and well worth seeing) and then Nazareth lifting the roof off the place so much so that Bad Company took to the stage and just said "follow that!" Just under forty years down the line we saw them again at the Brooklyn Bowl in the O2 Arena, London, last night. At their peak, they were huge, selling vast quantities of albums and hit singles, pulling in enormous crowds to their shows all over the world. Understandably the components have changed over time a bit like Trigger's broom - so what was the verdict? A review and more pics to follow but in the meantime have a look at our Vid Of The Day!
- "It Was Fantastic!" 24 September 2015
It didn't take long for the social media fallout to get underway following an awesome night at The Half Moon, Putney, on Tuesday which saw the excellent Blues Rock of young support band Southbound (pictured and our Vid Of The Day) complemented by the loud, dirty, fun and raunchy Classic Rock of headliners Shooter at their 'Recycled Teenagers' launch party. What a great night - two excellent bands for the price of one! Southbound tweeted "Wonderful gig last night at @HalfmoonPutney with @SHOOTERtheBand @WRINKLYCLUB @RockontheRidge Great Venue too #gig" whilst Shooter not only tweeted "@HalfmoonPutney you were awesome thx @RockontheRidge @WRINKLYCLUB and thx to an awesome support band @bandsouthbound" but also made a Facebook posting "Thanks to AJ and the Wrinkly Rockers Club - check out their website for vids and reviews!" Anyway watch this space for a review and pics from Jules and Bob respectively from the Rock On The Ridge team - Bob summing up the evening in three simple words: "It was fantastic!".

All road leads to the Royal Albert Hall tonight for Steven Wilson's second consecutive night at this iconic venue. Wilson's new album 'Hand. Cannot. Erase.' Anyway, watch this space over the next few days for a review plus pics and vids (stewards permitting) - but in the meantime check out the vid below showcasing the amazing Guthrie Govan on guitar.

- When I'm 64! 19/12/15
"When he’s on stage there’s still nobody better as a showman, singer and raconteur. Physically fit and with his voice in far better shape than on the last tour, there’s a consistency and an enthusiasm about his performance that defies the Saltburn crooner’s advancing years. “I’m gonna be 60 in September,’’ he moaned before ruefully admitting his attempts to turn the clock back had failed. For a man from the north, Coverdale’s between-song banter is puzzling. His cut glass Queen’s English is regularly punctuated with profanities, making him sound like a lord who has had one too many brandies!!" That was part of Wrinkly The Silver's take on Whitesnake at London's Hammersmith Apollo in June 2011 - so another four year's down the line and with DC now 64 and WTS unable to attend with a bad back - how did last night's Whitesnake/Def Leppard/Black Star Rider's Wembley gig go down? A review and more pics to come - but in the meantime check out our Vid Of The Day!
- Hatz Off To Joe! 20/12/15
Tweet of the Day yesterday has to go to Geoff Carne of Geoff Carne & The Hatz: "Def Leppard singer Joe Elliott (pictured) trying to steal our image last night at Wembley!" The WRC had the pleasure of Geoff's company on Friday and indeed we will bringing you his take on Def Leppard in the next couple of days. Watch out also for 'The Hatz' being added to our 'LastMinuteBandz' page over the coming week - but in the meantime check out our pics from Friday in our photo gallery here.
