  • Normal Service Resumed! 16 August 2015

Well we did warn you of our wi-fi concerns during our recent WRC short tour of Bulgaria. Suffice to say we apologise for the absence of updates over the last three days but, as they say, this was down to circumstances beyond our control. Anyway, as expected the beer was cheap, we made lots of new friends as pictured, the weather was hot plus the Bulgarian Folk Music was surreal - hence our Vid Of The Day!

  • 'Operation Stack' On Route 66! 4 August 2015

This weeks edition of Route 66 is packed out like a truckers cafe on the M20! Today's Track Of The Day has got pre-release solo tracks from Keith Richards and David Gilmour, an epic live performance of a Foo Fighters classic, a new track from guitar virtuoso, Paul Rose, and the featured album is the excellent 'Heroes and Villains' from FM (pictured) who, coincidentally, we saw at Ramblin' Man, Maidstone! All that, 'Operation Stack' approved and fully jocked up for host Rory Auskerry to drive away with!

  • Introducing ..... The Vintage Caravan! 22 August 2015

Icelandic rockers The Vintage Caravan (our Vid Of The Day) will commence their first ever UK headline tour in October after previously touring with the likes of Blues Pills and Grand Magus during the past two years. The trio released their well-received psychedelic album 'Arrival' back in May and packed out Camden's Electric Ballroom when they played Desertfest earlier in the year. Becoming renowned for their high energy live performances as well as young frontman Óskar Logi's stunning long ginger locks these dates are not to be missed! In addition the band will be back in the UK in November to play a London show at Camden's Underworld on Sunday 22nd November, supporting label-mates Avatarium.

  • WRC's Hair Of The Dog! 2 August 2015

The first time we saw Nazareth was at The Great British Music Festival at Olympia! It was a 3 day event and just look at the line up on this poster - for £3.50 each day you could see some of the best bands of all time. Our overriding memories of the day were seeing Ronnie Lane's Slim Chance who had just formed after the split of The Faces (still going strong and well worth seeing) and then Nazareth lifting the roof off the place so much so that Bad Company took to the stage and just said "follow that!" Just under forty years down the line we are off to see them again at the Brooklyn Bowl in the O2 Arena, London, exactly in a month's time. Understandably the components have changed over time a bit like Trigger's broom - but hey you can't beat a bit of 'WokeUp This Morning' and the WRC are always thankful for a 'Hair Of The Dog' (our Vid Of The Day). Give us a shout if you will also be there!

  • Cutting Us Down To Size! 6 August 2015

Apologies for the recent gremlins on our latest WRC 'On Tour' t-shirt merchandise page here which meant you couldn't specify a size. Well the problem has now been rectified and one size fits all is now a thing of the past! Don't forget also that with our 2015 BluesRockfest DVD in the pipeline - you can in the meantime still order here WRC DVD/CD's from previous Wrinklystock's and BluesFest's!

Now just 3 days to go as our countdown to BluesRockfest at The Red Lion, Gravesend, this Saturday 4th July hits the local headlines! The fourth band on stage at 6.45pm and sponsored by the Blues Club podcast are 2014 WRC Award winners Little Devils (our Vid Of The Day). Little Devils were formed in 2010, have produced three CDs, were voted Best Live Band in 2011 and were finalists in the New Brunswick Battle of the Blues 2012. Their sound has been described as an eclectic mix of R&B, Dylanesque Americana and Rock & Blues. 2013 saw their song 'Deep Inside' selected as the first track on 'The Best of British Blues' which was voted No. 1 album by the IAAB in January 2014. They launched their latest album 'The Storm Inside' in May 2015 and having performed in both the UK and Europe, their fan base has greatly increased and live performances continue to receive rave reviews. • WRC Punks On Tour! 15 June 2015

OK so the date is not on our official '2015 WRC On Tour' t-shirt but The WRC bandwagon stopped off for a bit of 'Free Punk Rock' at The Prince Albert in Brighton on Saturday night! And what a great night we had with no less than four bands - namely Sweet Jonny, Pig City Angels, Atombuzz and headliners Skurvi. We would all like to thank the venue for making us so welcome plus all the bands for being so friendly and not gobbing at us! Watch out for more pics of the night shortly but in the meantime our Vid Of The Day is handed over to the Gods of Punk - The Sex Pistols!

  • When Giants Finally Come Together ..... 20 July 2015

They blew the bloody roof off the last time we promoted them, so the WRC are really looking forward to seeing their forthcoming gig at The Orchard Theatre, Dartford, this Wednesday 22nd July! Voted WRC Best Tribute Act of 2012, Purple Zeppelin are proud to pay tribute to the two greatest Rock Bands of all time, Deep Purple and Led Zeppelin – together on the same bill for the very first time!!! Many years have passed since the last UK gigs from the classic line-ups of both bands. Whether you were lucky enough to have seen the originals live or not, Purple Zeppelin will take you back to the magic, the excitement and the sheer raw energy generated by those incredible musicians. And you can still buy tickets priced £19 here - do not miss out!

  • Nil Points! 25 May 2015

OK so none of us like actually admitting that we watch the Eurovison Song Contest - but hey - what's this - a host country band actually playing their own instruments? Surely The Makemakes from Austria were in with a sniff? The moral of the story I suppose is if you sound a bit like Coldplay, you wear a hat like that and you set fire to your piano then you are bound to end up with nil points! Personally I liked our Video Of The Day but does that you tell you more about my taste in music or Eurovision? The jury's out! And as for that UK entry ...... AJ.
