  • Another Brick In The Wall! 28/6/16

American Blues Rock guitarist Joe Bonamassa joined a host of named legends as he received his brick in The Cavern ‘Wall of Fame’ yesterday ahead of his intimate Cavern gig later in the evening - which we were lucky enough to attend! Bonamassa’s free show at Liverpool’s famous cellar club was a thank you to his British fans for the support they have shown him through his career. Joe launched his series of British Blues Explosion concert's, which pay homage to some of his musical inspirations including Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page, the latter two who already also feature in the Cavern’s ‘Wall of Fame’! Check out today's Vid Of The Day with more photos and a review to come.

  • WRC To Rock The Ridge! 12/3/16

Well the bad news is there is no WRC Award winning Rock On The Ridge show tonight but the good news is that it will be back next Saturday! And if you can call it good news - Bob & Jules' special guests on next week's show here at 8pm will be none other than AJ and Col from the WRC - where they will be discussing the WRC, their musical influences plus much more. • Alive In The Hidden City 2/3/16

Respect to Wrinkly The Biker for his following take on The Cult who played the Brixton Academy last Saturday night: "Having done my homework on the new Cult album, I packed my phone in my breast pocket and headed for London. Armed with a high resolution copy of the album I enjoyed one last listen during the journey. It was a good investment as there are some strong numbers, and knowing this The Cult featured them prominently. A packet Brixton Academy played host to a band who are still on top form, delivering in the same confident fashion as always. You know the delivery style; but it’s still great after all these years. Astbury walks the stage flexing his voice box in the normal manner with regular emphasis from his right arm, whilst to his left Duffy takes up the familiar axeman stance. Plenty of good stuff from the new LP is mixed in with old favourites and the audience keeps bopping along the whole time. Sadly I had to miss the encore to get my train back, but the main set was fantastic. Don’t wait too long before you see them." Setlist: Dark Energy, Rain, Wild Flower, Horse Nation, Hinterland, Sweet Soul Sister, Lil' Devil, Gone, Honey From a Knife, Birds of Paradise, Deeply Ordered Chaos, Fire Woman, Nirvana, Phoenix, She Sells Sanctuary. Encore: Moonage Daydream, Spiritwalker, Love Removal Machine.

  • Limehouse Lizzy Headline Wrinklystock V! 2/3/16

Well we suppose we should have waited until St. Patricks Day to announce our Monsters Of Irish Rock Wrinklystock V line-up at the Mick Jagger Centre, Dartford, on Saturday 26th November! In the end it was in fact St. Davids Day yesterday when we revealed exclusively through our WRC March e-mail bulletin that Limehouse Lizzy (our Vid Of The Day) are indeed headlining and that U2-2 (our Track Of The Day) are supporting on what is always a rockin' occasion! Make sure you order your tickets now priced £22 here in order that you don't miss out!

  • Ed Forced Out Of Action! 14/3/16

And talking of festivals - we're off to see Iron Maiden at Download in June so were sorry to hear that their airplane was badly damaged on Saturday at an airport in Santiago, Chile! Following the bands 'Book Of Souls' world tour stop at Estadio Nacional, the accident occurred when Ed Force One was being taken for refueling at Comodoro Arturo Merino Benítez International Airport prior to flying over the Andes to Cordoba, Argentina, for their concert at Estadio Mario Kempes. While the Boeing 747 heads for repairs, Iron Maiden manager Rod Smallwood assures fans the recently-launched 2016 tour will continue as scheduled. Phew!

  • Blood Brothers! 5/3/16

"The band moved into quieter mode, with their polished close harmonies, excellent musicianship and strong catchy melodies reminiscent of the Eagles. My favourite song of this stretch was 'Let it Lie', the title track of their album. But I much preferred the later part of the set, when the band turned the heat up a notch for the rollicking 'Runaway Train', John Hiatt's 'Alone In The Dark' and 'I am The Fool' written and originally recorded by their father Wally Landreth. This section was Country Rock at its best, enhanced by the Bluesy wail of electric guitars, the swirling organ and the blood harmonies of the brothers." Check out the rest of Ian Cawthron's excellent Brothers Landreth review here plus today's Vid Of The Day!
