Some of the best musicians in the UK will pay tribute tonight to the music of Cyril Davies (our 'Video Of The Day') & Alexis Korner and the release in 1963 of 'Country Line Special/Chicago Calling' at The Eel Pie Club, The Patch, 67 London Road, Twickenham TW1 3SZ. This annual event, hosted by The Alan Glen (Yardbirds, Nine Below Zero)/John O'Leary (Savoy) All-Stars includes Bob Haddrell (Barcodes, Sonny Black), Nick Newall (Kinks, Zoot Money), Glynn Evans (Ray Davies, Martha & The Vandellas) and Peter Miles (Joann Kelly, Radical Sheiks). Special guests are also anticipated with the band on stage at 9pm. Doors open at 8.30pm and WRC members are reminded that they can use their cards to get discounted £10 admission.

Tonight all roads lead to the O2 Arena, London, to see the 'Who Hits 50' Tour! 'Hits, Picks, Mixes and Misses'! In fact it's just up the road from where AJ first saw them at The Valley, Charlton in 1974 - yes over 40 years ago - hence our 'next WRC gig video' below. Anyway, the first band on stage that day were critically acclaimed to be best the band on the day - Californian Hard Rock band Montrose - with Sammy Hagar on lead vocals. And if the 'Slydigs' - who are supporting The Who tonight - are anywhere near as good - then we are in for a good evening - hence the guys from Warrington are our 'Video Of The Day'!

Talking of "Do Not Miss" - top Blues/Rock Guitar 4 Piece - The Sharpees Maximum RnB Band - are appearing at The Oak, 98 Richmond Road, Kingston Upon Thames, London KT2 5EN at 9pm tonight. Consequently our 'Track Of The Day' includes The Sharpees plus all the other bands that played at the 2013 Bluesfest - of which the DVD/CD is still available from our merchandise page here!

Make a note in your diaries that our friends The David Sinclair Four are holding an album launch gig at The Borderline in London on Thursday 14th May - three days after its official release date on Monday 11th. The Strawkites hail from Canterbury, England, and have been on the WRC Prog radar for quite some time now so when we heard about their new video 'Moonlighting' it was a no brainer to make it our 'Vid Of The Day'. Duo Keith and Stewart who produce all their own songs are - surprise surprise - both big fans of Pink Floyd and have been writing and recording their own material for a number of years now and lately have been making their own videos. In the Summer of 2010 Callaghan (today's Track Of The Day) packed up her life in London and moved to Atlanta to record with Grammy nominee Shawn Mullins after contacting him on Myspace. Knocked out by her voice and songwriting, he agreed to produce her debut album 'Life In Full Colour' which was released in 2012 to great reviews. Playing live Callaghan performs on piano and guitar and delivers a vocal which earns frequent comparisons with artists like Sarah McLachlan and Emmy Lou Harris. Her songs share stories and emotions and deliver thoughtful lyrics, haunting vocals, and catchy melodies. A five track EP is available to download for free here.

Another great band overdue on our WRC radar are Voodoo Room - hence both today's 'Introducing ....' feature and our 'Video Of The Day'. An exciting classic power trio, paying tribute to both Hendrix and Cream, they perform a kicking, world class show in total appreciation of these two massive pioneers of classic Blues/Rock!! Featuring Pete Orr on guitar and vocals, John Tonks on drums and Andy Tolman on bass - there are no wigs, no pantomime - just great UK musicians playing great music!

Our Vid Of The Day features Giles Hedley & The Aviators - namely Sam Kelly, Christophe Pélissié, Richard Sadler and of course Giles himself - who are currently touring to full houses everywhere. And there's a reason for that - they're amongst the most entertaining bands you could hope to see! So make sure you're amongst the audience tonight at Richard Dunning's Tuesday Night Music Club at in St. Margaret's Road, Coulsdon, Surrey CR5 3RB at 8.30pm.

As we quite often say at the WRC "you couldn't make it up"! Anyway our daily WRC tweet on Monday heralded Wrinkly The Silver's cracking review of the recent Skynyrd gig and it was subsequently favourited by Bad Company legend Mick Ralphs who guested with the Southern rockers late on. "I feel humble in the extreme" WTS added - anyway any excuse for a bit of Bad Company hence our VOTD is a live 1974 vid of Ralphs iconic 'Can't Get Enough' - the very same year AJ saw them supporting The Who at Charlton :-)

Bookended by tracks by 'Bad Influence' before their recent show at The Tuesday Night Music Club - we have some of the greatest new music you could hope to hear as our 'Track Of The Day'. Richard Dunning's latest 'Blues On The Radio' podcast includes artists who are appearing at The European Blues Challenge, a clutch of artists from the 'Blind Racoon' stable and songs from both favourites and new artists - a veritable feast of the best music around - including BluesRockfest's The Troy Redfern Band (pictured).
