  • Introducing ..... Voodoo Room! 3 March 2015

Another great band overdue on our WRC radar are Voodoo Room - hence both today's 'Introducing ....' feature and our 'Video Of The Day'. An exciting classic power trio, paying tribute to both Hendrix and Cream, they perform a kicking, world class show in total appreciation of these two massive pioneers of classic Blues/Rock!! Featuring Pete Orr on guitar and vocals, John Tonks on drums and Andy Tolman on bass - there are no wigs, no pantomime - just great UK musicians playing great music!

  • Reach For the Sky! 19 May 2015

Our Vid Of The Day features Giles Hedley & The Aviators - namely Sam Kelly, Christophe Pélissié, Richard Sadler and of course Giles himself - who are currently touring to full houses everywhere. And there's a reason for that - they're amongst the most entertaining bands you could hope to see! So make sure you're amongst the audience tonight at Richard Dunning's Tuesday Night Music Club at in St. Margaret's Road, Coulsdon, Surrey CR5 3RB at 8.30pm.

  • We're Not Worthy! 29 April 2015

As we quite often say at the WRC "you couldn't make it up"! Anyway our daily WRC tweet on Monday heralded Wrinkly The Silver's cracking review of the recent Skynyrd gig and it was subsequently favourited by Bad Company legend Mick Ralphs who guested with the Southern rockers late on. "I feel humble in the extreme" WTS added - anyway any excuse for a bit of Bad Company hence our VOTD is a live 1974 vid of Ralphs iconic 'Can't Get Enough' - the very same year AJ saw them supporting The Who at Charlton :-)

  • 'BOTR' - Under The Influence! 12 March 2015

Bookended by tracks by 'Bad Influence' before their recent show at The Tuesday Night Music Club - we have some of the greatest new music you could hope to hear as our 'Track Of The Day'. Richard Dunning's latest 'Blues On The Radio' podcast includes artists who are appearing at The European Blues Challenge, a clutch of artists from the 'Blind Racoon' stable and songs from both favourites and new artists - a veritable feast of the best music around - including BluesRockfest's The Troy Redfern Band (pictured). For ticket information on BluesRockfest go here or for discounted ticket info (if you are a WRC member or want to become a WRC member) go here.

  • Route 66 To Europe! 10 March 2015

The bad news is that by the time you listen to Rory Auskerry's latest 'Track Of The Day' it will be too late to win Europe gig tickets - unless you entered the competition last week! The good news is that this week's Route 66 podcast contains the best in Rock and Blues including of course Europe, The Rolling Stones (pictured at Hyde Park in 2013), Van Halen and Italian Blues Rockers, the Jimi Barbiani Band!

  • Head To The Vault! 9 Feb 2015

If you're looking for a Bank Holiday gig tonight then you might be lucky and pick up a ticket to Gov't Mule's one-off show at the O2 Shepherd's Bush Empire. The Southern Rock jam band will be celebrating their 20th anniversary by bringing their dynamic live experience to London, drawing on a repertoire of over 300 songs which makes every Gov't Mule show unique. And if you're going then give us a shout and let us know how it went!

  • Little Devils Blues Club! 10 June 2015

"Heavy Weather showcased all elements of this four-piece band plus their originality with lead singer Yoka Qureshi playing both the sax and flute. The set list then correlated with the CD as they followed up with 'Wounded', 'Skin Sin', the very catchy 'Deep Inside' and 'Birth Of The Blues' - highlighting the musical (and personal) chemistry between Yoka and lead guitarist (and partner) Ray Qureshi. B.B. would have loved that one." Yes that was another WRC take - this time on Little Devils recent album launch party - and with just under four weeks to go now we'd like to thank The Blues Club from Switch Dunmow (listen here tonight at 8pm) for being their set sponsor at BluesRockfest! Tickets for Bluesrockfest are still on sale here for £15 in advance (£18 on the door). And remember if you are a WRC member just go here where you can get £3 discount off your ticket!

  • The Rainbreakers Bring Sunshine! 8 June 2015

"The Rainbreakers play with style and enthusiasm, their original material fitting nicely alongside covers of Free's 'Fire & Water', Gary Clark Jr's 'When My Train Pulls In' (today's Vid Of The Day) and the oft covered 'Bright Lights, Big City'. These guys are definitely on their way up and we look forward to welcoming them back on July 4th to open BluesRockFest." Yes that was our WRC take on their most recent Red Lion support slot and with just under four weeks to go now we'd like to thank Sunshine Valley Florida Holiday Villa for being The Rainbreakers set sponsor at BluesRockfest! Tickets for Bluesrockfest are on sale here for £15 in advance (£18 on the door). And remember if you are a WRC member just go here where you can get £3 discount off your ticket!

  • Chantel McGregor Part 2 - Gig Review 2 June 2015

It says much for the character, talent and versatility of a band when they can change their plans for a show at almost a moment’s notice. That was exactly what Chantel McGregor did at the Boom Boom last Friday to overcome the absence of the guest act and ensure an expectant crowd got class and value for money. The solution to the problem, Chantel taking to the stage to play an opening solo acoustic set of five songs that came as a real surprise and a veritable treat writes Nigel Foster. Read the rest of Nigel's Chantel McGregor review here, go to John Bull's excellent picture gallery here plus also see our 'Video Of The Day!'
