  • Introducing .... The Simon Kennedy Band 8 August 2015

Formed in 2014 by Dundee born guitarist Simon Kennedy, enlisting Mirek Hodun on the organ, they set about writing and producing their debut album 'Make Up Your Mind' which was well received by critics and fans alike. BBC Radio 2’s Paul Jones said the band was “deservedly the recipients of a great deal of praise” and the Independent Blues Broadcasters Association voted it Album of the Month. In 2015 Edinburgh based session drummer Brian MacLeod was brought in to complete the line up - a guitar/hammond led trio playing their own brand of funky gospel Blues. With the success of their debut album they have been deservedly sought out to play major festivals like The Orkney Blues Festival, Perth’s Southern Fried Festival and Glasgow's Merchant City Festival!

  • Better Late Than Never! 1/6/16

"First up were Lilith And The Knight, a 4 piece hailing from London with Lilith on Vocals, Adam on guitar, Tom on bass and Francesco on drums. With the captivating Lilith fronting this Hard Rock and Metal band, LATK were just out of the studio where they had just recorded their first EP, which they duly aired on the night including their cracking new debut single 'Wake Up'. Fair play to the band as their infectious antics on stage was passed on to an appreciative audience - even finding time for a cover of Guns N' Roses 'Paradise City'. A great start to proceedings." Read the rest of AJ's Lilith And The Knight, JOANovARC and Fire Red Empress review here plus check out our photo gallery here and our Vid Of The Day!

  • Oh Danny Boy! 29/2/16

"Danny immediately endeared himself to the crowded tent by saying that he either had all of a sudden become very popular or it was the fact that that everyone wanted to get out of the rain! Well it was definitely a case of the former given Danny’s critically acclaimed album ‘Temperature Rising’ has been nominated in the British Blues Awards and it was one of those songs – ‘Guntown’ that stood out in an impressive set. Complemented by Alex Phillips on bass, Danny had to be thankful that in his guitar solo induced forays to the front of the stage – that he was in the dry and in no danger of slipping off the stage! Personally – one of my top 3 sets of the day." That was AJ's take on Danny Bryant at Ramblin' Man last July - so it was no surprise that Danny blew everyone away at Leo's Red Lion last night! Check out todays Vid Of The Day with more pics and a review to come!
