  • Introducing .......... Ali Clinton 6 Feb 2015

    Our 'Video Of The Day' is of an emerging Rock/Blues guitarist/singer and songwriter from the Midlands in the UK. From the age of 16, Ali Clinton has been playing and touring with guitar legend and ex-Scorpion Uli Jon Roth, but is currently trying to move forward with his own career - hence our latest 'Introducing .....' feature. Ali is currently looking at different festivals and venues to try and build his profile and the vid is a live studio performance of an original track off of his new self-titled debut EP.

  • ZZ Top's Off 3 WRC Gigs In A Week! 15 Feb 2015

    Following our recent 'Track Of The Day' featuring Rory Auskerry's 'Route 66' - the inevitable tweet from Rory arrived - "Are you guys going to ZZ Top in London on June 24th?" The gig had crossed our minds at Wrinkly Towers but with The Foo Fighters on Saturday 20th and The Who on Friday 26th - was this going to be a gig too far for the Wrinkly Rockers? What the heck - 'Silver' stepped up to the plate with standing tickets so it's going to be a memorable week!     Now that the WRC have completed the line-up for this year's BluesRockfest - WRC member Steve Borkowski has subsequently designed this brand new shiny poster!     Beating both Blackfield and The Pineapple Thief to our 2014 Best Prog Performance award were American supergroup Flying Colors - thanks to their performance at The Islington Assembly Halls in October. With just 4 more awards to be announced - keep watching this space!

  • Robin Grabs Best Guitar Solo! 18 Jan 2015

    Despite being in the exalted company of both Joe Bonamassa and Richie Sambora - Robin Bibi has deservedly won the WRC's 'Best Guitar Solo' award for 2014! And today's 'Video Of The Day' is testament to why Robin has won this accolade thanks to this performance at our WRC Bluesfest in July 2014! Well done Robin!

  • Live At The Underworld! 21/3/16

    Can it really be just under 43 years since their iconic performance at The Rainbow Theatre in Finsbury Park, London? Well all roads lead back to London again tonight as Focus are performing at The Underworld, Camden. It's a sign of the times that the band has only half of it's original roster from the 70's with Thijs Van Leer still on Hammond organ, flute and vocals plus drummer Pierre Van Der Linden. Van Leer's nephew Bobby Jacobs is on bass guitar with Menno Gootjes on lead guitar. Support is from The Earls Of Mars - so watch out for our review, pics and vids over the coming days.

  • Blues Of Desperation 20/2/16

    Grammy-nominated Blues-Rock guitar icon Joe Bonamassa's brand-new studio solo album, 'Blues Of Desperation', will be released on Friday March 25th. Like his previous solo disc, 2014’s Top 10 Billboard hit 'Different Shades of Blue', the new album features all-original material, and it sees the maverick superstar guitarist, singer and songwriter tossing away the rule book as he continues to reinvent and redefine the Blues-Rock genre like no other artist working today. Naturally a healthy WRC contingent are off to see JB's 'A Salute To The British Blues Explosion' at London's Greenwich Music Time Festival on Thursday 7th July.

    Today's Track Of The Day is Saturday night's WRC Award winning Rock On The Ridge podcast! Bob and Jules feature new music this week from Monster Truck, Aviator Shades, Wolfmother, Mindriot, Inglorious (pictured last Sunday at the Islington Assembly Halls by John Bull), Mason Hill, Idlewar, Chase the Ace plus shed loads more!

  • Counting Down To St. Paddy's Blues! 7/3/16

    Just 11 days to Saint Patrick’s Day on Thursday 17th March, when The British Blues Exhibition brings you the first of a series of events showcasing the best in the British Blues scene. Taking place at the legendary Proud Camden, the event features three top acts: The Laura Holland Band, the Saiichi Sugiyama Band (our Vid Of The Day) and Pete Brown - that will all make you want to shake your tail feather. In company of their dancing friends from Swing Patrol London, they will make sure you get your mojo working for the night. Doors open at 6.30pm and the first band is on stage at 7pm.   • Yoka & Big Ray On ROTR Tonight! 27/2/16

    Former Little Devils members Yoka and Big Ray (pictured at BluesRockFest 2015) are Bob & Jules special guests in the 2015 WRC Award winning Rock On The Ridge studio here tonight between 8pm and 10pm, where the guys will be talking about their new band Yoka & The SugarBeats! You can also catch Bob & Jules this coming Thursday at the farewell Shooter gig at the Half Moon, Putney, with support from 2015 WRC Award winners Southbound. Tickets priced £7 are still available here.

  • David's In The Picture! 22/2/16

    A small number of WRC members sacrificed the Thunder gig at Wembley to enjoy a few after match beers with legendary DJ David Hamilton. David - who was one of our very first members - was presented with a WRC t-shirt as we discussed football and of course music including 'Rock 'n' Roll Back The Years' (see Vid Of The Day) - a show hosted by the broadcasting legend. A fantastic nostalgia show featuring fabulous band The Fugitives and the amazing Tiffany Girls - David promised to wear his WRC t-shirt at one of his gigs.     According to The Marshman, "stax of new stuff has passed through my grubby hands recently and now seems as good a time as any for you to hear it as well!" Anyway here at 7pm tonight there will be tracks from Adam Franklin, The Allen-Lamun Band, Bing Futch, Cecil B Fardoulli and The Big Boo, Boo Boo Davis, Chris Yakopcic, Dave Muskett, Desert Rock, Furlong and Smith, Gunther Brown, Jason Vivone and The Billy Bats, Marvin Hill, Mike Ross, Matt Woosey, R B Stone, Stevie Nimmo's new album (pictured), Swampgrass, Tedeschi Trucks, Kelly Richey Band and winners of the Memphis IBC - The Delgado Brothers.
