  • Slim Chance Interview 15/9/16

The last time we caught Slim Chance was at London's Borderline in January 2014 - a fantastic set which actually won them our 'Best Acoustic' 2014 WRC Award! Turn the clock back a further 38 years (ouch) and we also saw them of course with the late Ronnie Lane at Olympia's Great British Music Festival along with the esteemed company of The Pretty Things, Nazareth, Charlie, Be Bop Deluxe and some band called Bad Company! Impressive eh? Well we took in Slim Chance at Twickenham's famous Eel Pie Club on Thursday 25th August 2016 - the line-up now featuring original members, Charlie Hart (who we interviewed here before the gig and today's Track Of The Day), Steve Simpson and Steve Bingham. Anyway check out our review here of a set that included classic Ronnie Lane songs as well as original tracks from their new album 'On The Move' plus more photos here.

  • Circus Maximus Interview 12/9/16

Norwegian Progressive Metallers Circus Maximus began the second leg of their 'Havoc' tour at London's Underworld on Saturday 27th August. With influences of bands such as Dream Theater and Symphony X, in some eyes 'Havoc' sees a swing more towards Metal than Prog. • Johnny B Goode! 12/9/16

"Following a riotous meeting with Colin & AJ at the Joe Bonamassa gig at The Cavern in Liverpool last month, I was looking forward to attending this invitation only gig in this classy venue in Covent Garden. Being a John Verity virgin, I really had no idea what to expect of the evening other than being unceasingly ribbed by the Wrinklies in their inimitable manner. Of course they didn’t disappoint me on that front. Only knowing Argent hits 'Hold your Head Up' and 'God Gave Roll & Roll To You' I was intrigued to know how the evening would roll." Check out the rest of Steve Potter's excellent Inamo, London, review here and check out our photo gallery here.
