Creating fresh, new and exciting sounds, drawing from the eighties Pop sensibilities of Depeche Mode and Duran Duran, through to the heavier intensity and technicality of modern Progressive music such as Haken and Porcupine Tree, tonight at The Lower Third, London Prog Gigs present innovative Synth-Proggers Kyros, with support from Something or Other and Sweetpool, part of their five date 'Fear & Love' UK tour, named after last year's EP, of which the title track is today's Video Of The Day. Dragging Emo into the modern twenties, Something or Other create Rock that flirts with Progressive, as well as influences from My Chemical Romance to Counterparts, while Sweetpool create a thrilling, intense melting pot of Psychedelic Punk, Flamenco and space noises, think Can, Hawkwind, even The Groundhogs, hurled together with a dose of Post Punk.
