    Last August, on  a humid evening at London's Good Mixer, a stalwart of the Camden scene, we soaked in the early ’80s Indie energy-New Wave melodies of Explode the TV, just two weeks before the release of their ten-track debut album, 'Unbreakable', so not only check out Ivan De Mello's belated review of said album below, but also watch today's title track album launch Video Of The Day, filmed in London at Shoreditch's The Star last October.

  • Cabiria Kanoo Maebe 20/3/25

    On Tuesday at Camden's The Fiddler's Elbow, London Prog Gigs present an evening of instrumental Progressive Post-Rock, featuring three excellent young bands, namely Maebe, Cabiria and Kanoo, of which today's 'Harsh Realm' Video Of The Day is taken from Maebe's latest album, 'Rebirth. Relive. Repeat.' Indeed, hailing from Bristol, Maebe have made waves across the UK instrumental scene having also played ArcTanGent Festival last August, while straddling the boundaries of Post Metal, Prog and Fusion, Cabiria are an instrumental trio based in London, and last but not least, Kanoo are an Indie-Prog trio known for crafting intricate rhythms, lush melodies and experimental textures.

    As part of his Inspirations series, in which he paid tribute to the artists that helped shape his taste in music and guitar style before he sadly passed away in 2023, as well as having the approval of his widow Fran, Bernie Marsden's fourth album of studio recordings in the series, 'Icons', will be released on Friday 9th May, of which an appetiser to the five-track EP featuring Bernie's incredible rendition of 'Purple Haze', is also one of today's six of the best 'Thursday Rocks!'
