Described by many music pundits as a modern-day hybrid of Janis Joplin and Tina Turner - a red-hot Rock singer who radiates emotional intensity, who connects with and inspires her audiences - Sari Schorr (pictured) certainly left a lasting impression at London's 100 Club last night. On the penultimate night of London Blues Week, Sari co-headlined with fellow American Sharrie Williams - The Princess of Rockin' Gospel Blues - on a mouthwatering double bill. Today's Track Of The Day is a collection of songs performed by Tremor at their very first gig, live at Potse, Berlin, in October last year. The four-piece are a very political, kick ass Hard Rock Hip Hop band based in Berlin, with their first EP due to be released next month, which coincides with their very first tour. Although the band is at the beginning of its way, they are four highly ambitious and experienced musicians, who are looking to kick both a loud and clear musical and political voice as hard as possible from the streets.

"One of my favourites came next, the title track of the new album, ‘Never Say Never’, written by Ian McLagan (Small Faces/Faces) and originally featured on McLagan’s 2008 ‘Never Say Never’ album. This is a sublimely beautiful song with fountains of emotion pouring from each and every word. A sensational and breath-taking performance from Sari! Being a fan of McLagan’s work and having seen him perform several times (Sadly McLagan passed away in 2014 at the age of 69 due to complications after suffering a stroke), this song has etched a deeper resonance for me, and as a result when I hear Sari’s version it has me welling up every time!" From the day he conceived the project to the moment he counted off the first song in the studio, Walter Trout had a bolder plan for ‘Survivor Blues’. Trout made it his mission to harness the power and spirit of the originals, whilst stamping his inimitable musical personality onto each new take, he also has a stellar lineup of musicians to reinterpret the greatest sunken treasures in the Blues genre. But last September, as recording began at the Los Angeles studio of iconic Doors guitarist Robby Krieger, Trout and long-standing producer Eric Corne shared their vision with the only band who could measure up. The thunder and finesse of drummer Michael Leasure, the muscular groove of bassist Johnny Griparic and last, but not least, the spell-casting fingers of keyboards session God and regular Trout conspirator, Skip Edwards.

Magic Dance was born in 2012 on Long Island, New York, as a solo project for singer/songwriter and self-taught musician/producer Jon Siejka. In late 2017, Jon and Magic Dance were signed by Frontiers, and for his first album 'New Eyes' on the new label, released last month (see today's Video Of The Day), Jon collaborated with Jack Simchak and Tim Mackey on guitars, Mike Peniston and Kevin Krug on bass and Kevin McAdams on drums. While the sound is now heavier and more guitar oriented, the sound leans way more towards classic AOR, with strong hints of the sounds of the mid 80’s (think Loverboy, Heart, Survivor, etc). An outstanding release very much in line with the 80’s revival sound which is bulldozing it’s way back onto the scene!

Originally formed in 1996 by former English Dogs, The Prodigy, Destructors, Fields Of The Nephilim, Steve Ignorant (Crass) guitarist and general all-round Peterborough Punk legend Gizz Butt, last November saw the welcome return of his Melodic Punk band Janus Stark, and their new single ‘Shuffling The Pack' (today's Video Of The Day). Their first new material in twenty-one years (and their first ever video!), ‘Shuffling The Pack’ is a hook-heavy, power-Pop-Punk smack to the jaw. Last year frontman Gizz decided to reform Janus Stark and asked guitarist Richard Gombault (of 90's Pop Punk trio Midget) to join, along with long standing close friends Fozzy Dixon (drums) and Simon Martin (bass). ‘Shuffling The Pack’, the first results of this new line-up, sees Gizz effortlessly picking up from where the band left off in 2002 and finds its author as riled up and inspired as ever. Dave Grohl once described Janus Stark as “a great melodic kick up the arse”. Little has changed on that front. Prepare to have your arse kicked all over again as they play London's Camden Rocks Festival on Sunday 2nd June.

Progressive Metallers Wheel have recently released their new single, ‘Vultures’ (today's Video Of The Day), as well as announcing that their debut album, 'Moving Backwards', will be released on Friday 22nd February via Odyssey Music Network. ‘Vultures’ is the first track to be taken from the new album, following the release of two EP's, 'The Path' (2017) and 'The Divide' (2018), and sees the band showcasing their distinctive and time-defying collage of Progressive Rock, Grunge and film score that twists and turns into Tool-esque masterpieces. Armed with this expansive and mind-melting debut album, the quartet will be accompanying Swedish Art-Rockers Soen on their European tour throughout March and April, which includes London’s Islington Assembly Hall on Monday 25th March.
