  • Songs The Night Sings 11/11/19

Released last Friday, ’Songs The Night Sings’ (Track Of The Day) is the second album by The Dark Element featuring vocalist Anette Olzon and Finnish guitarist and songwriter Jani Liimatainen, and takes up where their self-titled 2017 debut left off, with immaculate vocals from Anette and fabulous anthems written by Jani. Ever since word about The Dark Element first got out, fans were frothing with anticipation. And no wonder, considering the talents involved. Anette is widely known for her two hit albums by Nightwish, while Jani has recently been busy in Insomnium and Cain's Offering (alongside Stratovarius singer Timo Kotipelto) but had also made a deep impression on power Metal fans following the twelve years he had spent in Sonata Arctica after co-founding that band.

  • Metalite Heroes Return 10/11/19

Two years after their exciting debut 'Heroes In Time', the Swedish Melodic Metal renewers Metalite return with new singer Erica Ohlsson and their AFM debut album 'Biomechanicals'. A richer production, stronger songwriting and an elusive and mysterious aura, distinguishes 'Biomechanicals' from everything you already know about Melodic and Symphonic Metal. Futuristic and glimmering, that differentiates lyrically from the rivalry, Metalite's expert use of electronic elements, influenced by the Trance era of early 21st century, sees sphaeric layers mix with flirring sequences and stoic beats, that fit like a second skin for this massive, melodic and outrageous catchy soundwall.

  • HRH 13 Day 1 Review 9/11/19

"Act of the night were Cloven Hoof. The veteran NWOBHM 5 piece hailing from the Midlands sound exactly like what they are. Iron Maiden and Judas Priest are both bands that spring to mind. Marshall amps and Gibson LTD guitars, strong wailing vocals, black leather and pentagrams. It's classic yet still fresh. Frontman George Call struts a la Dickinson/Halford in front of hugely powerful sound. It's just a shame that the arena didn't showcase either the sound or the show in it's best light. But a great set well received." Today read the whole of Mother's Hard Rock Hell 13 Day 1 review here from Great Yarmouth on Thursday night, plus check out our initial Photo Gallery here.
