- Jack J's World On Fire 30/10/20
Friday 13th November sees the release of ‘World On Fire’, Jack J Hutchinson's first single from his next studio album, 'The Hammer Falls'. It's a four-minute slab of Hard Rock that mixes a brutal Sabbath-esque opening riff with a sing along chorus perfectly built for packed venues. The middle 8 takes the track in an unexpected direction, with hints of Floyd, before the band come crashing back in for the finale. The track was recorded in Brazil at the renowned Estúdio Versão Acústica and produced by Lucas Sagaz, who also mixed Hutchinson’s recent live album ‘Who Feeds The Lockdown?’. It was co-written with his band mates Lazarus Michaelides (bass) and Felipe Amorim (drums). The band are currently working on the new album at Momentum Studios in Devon, where Kris Barras Band recorded their last two albums.

The White Buffalo – a.k.a. Jake Smith – has just released an inspired and poignant Video Of The Day named 'Guiding Light', his first since April’s critically-acclaimed Shooter Jennings-produced album, 'On The Widow’s Walk'. The timely track comes with less than two weeks to go until the 2020 U.S. election, one that finds Americans more divided than ever amidst a year marked by the Coronavirus pandemic and civil unrest. Produced, engineered, and mixed by bassist, Christopher Hoffee, and featuring Matt “The Machine” Lynott on drums, 'Guiding Light' is a reunion of sorts for the band that, like so many other bands, have not seen enough of each other in 2020. Indeed, Smith, Hoffee and Lynott will reunite again on Friday, 6th November at the Belly Up Tavern in Solana Beach, California, for a special live stream performance here of The White Buffalo’s 2012 album 'Once Upon a Time in the West'.

Tonight, join Mike Ross for 'The Clovis Limit Pt. 2' Album Launch online show here at 7pm, which will be opened by Brighton Heavy Rockers, The Dead Reds. Indeed, it will be the first full performance of the whole of the new album with a specially augmented line-up, featuring Jade ‘Like the Stone’ Williams on backing vocals, Stevie ‘Keys’ Watts on organ plus Darren Lee on drums and Dan Lyons on bass. Mike will be broadcasting the whole show using multiple cameras as well as pre-recorded video footage to really make the most of the streaming format, with streaming details being provided after purchase.

Burnt Out Wreck, featuring Gary Moat (ex-Heavy Pettin', Mothers Ruin), released their second album 'This Is Hell' last year and their new single taken from the album, 'Paddywack', is today's Track Of The Day.And to go with their great tunes, Gary has chosen both a great beer and cider to party away with! Burnt Out Wreck Cider (pictured) is made from a blend of the best apples and pears grown in the county of Herefordshire, whilst in collaboration with Lymestone Brewery, three powerful US hops dominate a monster of an American Pale Ale. Gary created the band in the Summer of 2016, and 'This Is Hell' sees the band featuring Gary - lead vocals, Alex Carmichael - bass, Paul Gray - drums, Adrian Dunn - lead guitar, backing vocals, Miles Goodman - rhythm guitar, backing vocals, take a big leap forward, ratcheting up the pace with this foot stomping, ball busting Hard Rock album.

Seminal Thrash Metal Titans Sodom release their new blistering 16th studio album, ‘Genesis XIX’, on Friday 27th November on Steamhammer/SPV. The Teutonic legends were formed in 1981 by bassist/vocalist Tom Angelripper in Altenessen, deep in the heart of the Ruhr area, a bleak industrial landscape dominated by the dirty, back-breaking coal mining industry since the mid-19th-century, where the band still rehearse in a tatty rehearsal room to produce their tough-as-nails music. Following the first relaxation of the lockdown rules, Tom, along with guitarists Frank Blackfire and Yorck Segatz, as well as new addition Toni Merkel (drums), couldn’t wait to get back to writing creatively. Incredibly fired up by both frustration and inspiration, the band consequently went into overdrive to create the twelve killer songs contained on the storming ‘Genesis XIX’.

Howlin Rain will release 'Under The Wheels: Live From The Coasts, Vol. 2', the second edition in a planned series of live album recordings, this Friday 30th October on Silver Current Records, of which they have recently shared the album's second track, 'Alligator Bride', which is today's Video Of The Day. The new album sees Howlin Rain's trademark Rock 'n' Roll bombast and intricately woven, extended improv passages, swirl into a distinct form of storytelling, expressed through spiraling energy and a near constant flow of form and melody. As a companion to its Vol. 1 predecessor, this latest offering is also drawn from North American coastal tours in 2018 and 2019 that came in support of the band's most recent studio album, 'The Alligator Bride'. Curated by Howlin Rain founder Ethan Miller, it presents favourite song performances selected from different shows along the way.

All too rarely do the talents of acting and musician combine successfully, however Noush Skaugen has realised this, with her exceptional, raw and powerful new album ‘Hey Sicko’, due to be released through Wildcard Records on Friday 20th November, of which a delicious taster is today's Video Of The Day. Indeed, this authentic and diverse album, finds Noush at her full creative tilt delivering retooled Rock, featuring 12 finely crafted songs full of Rock ’n’ roll attitude and glamour. Facilitated by Grammy nominated producer Michael Beinhorn, 'Hey Sicko' has the essence of an old school record but with a modern twist, and was recorded in Los Angeles with Nashville musicians Stanton Edward (guitar and bass) and Jon Radford (drums). The accomplished actress recently wrapped up filming the TV comedy series ‘Dead Pixels' plus also had the lead role in the feature film 'Soeurs d’Armes’.

- Outlaws Live At Rockpalast 27/10/20
US Southern rockers, The Outlaws, 'Live At Rockpalast 1981', is now available as a CD/DVD-set with many photos from the festival plus liner notes by guitarist/vocalist Freddie Salem. it's an hour of full unbridled Southern Rock joy, bursting with power and endurance, recorded at the very first Rockpalast Summer Open-Air festival above the rocks of the Lorelei. As well as Freddie, the line-up that day was Hughie Thomasson (guitar/vocals), Billy Jones (guitar/vocals), David Dix (drums) and Rick Cua (bass), just a year after the band had released their commercially successful album 'Ghost Riders'. Indeed the CD/DVD features an eight-minute version of the anthem '(Ghost) Riders In The Sky', including a guitar battle between Salem, Thomasson and Jones, as does their other Southern statement, 'Green Grass And High Tides', which stretches over twenty breathtaking minutes.

Today's epic Video Of The Day is The Middlenight Men's latest catchy new Power-Pop single 'Heroine Heights', that follows on from previously well received tracks 'Rat Star' and 'B.A. Baby'. The brilliant video has been a labour of love and took a rollercoaster eight months to produce, but it’s finally ready! The band were formed by Nick Hughes who brought long time friend Leon Cave (Status Quo) along for the ride and worked with producer Andy Brook who he met whilst previously in the Soho based Power Pop band The Role Models in 2015. Nick’s reputation was made from a decade of touring the UK circuit, and hitting the bars of Camden just as much. It was a chance encounter in 2013 with Chris McCormack (3 Colours Red, The Professionals) that landed him a session gig playing in The Yo-Yos with Chris’s brother, Danny McCormack. Additionally, Nick also works with Terrorvision and Love Zombies, amongst others.

Next year, Cleethorpes Rocks and Clee Fest have joined forces to bring you an open air one day festival at Meridian Park on Saturday 31st July as a big thank you to the NHS for all they have done and are continuing to do in these challenging times. Profits will be donated to the local NHS Trust and there will be free admission for NHS staff with a NHS ID card and ticket. Formed on Canvey Island in Essex in the early 1970's, Dr. Feelgood are the latest band to be added to the brilliant bill, and remain one of the most popular and exciting live Rhythm and Blues acts in the world. Indeed, the current line up features the rhythm section of Kevin Morris on drums and Phil Mitchell on bass, Steve Walwyn on guitar, plus vocalist Robert Kane (formerly of the Animals).
