- Fortune Favours II 8/4/19
Fortune (Track Of The Day) release their latest CD ‘II’ on Friday 26th April, an album that will surely prove to be an AOR highlight of 2019. Formed by brothers Richard and Mick Fortune in the late 70’s and cutting a self-titled album, they subsequently revamped the group with new members such as vocalist Larry 'L.A.’ Greene (of Top Gun soundtrack fame) and keyboard player Roger Scott Craig (ex-Liverpool Express), and made a second self-titled record in 1985 (recently reissued) that is regarded by many as perhaps the best AOR album ever. The band subsequently remained silent until a number shows as a trio in 2006, while a full band reunion took place at the Rockingham Festival in Nottingham in 2016 and went so well that they returned the following year and also signed to Frontiers in the process.

- Magnum Album Review 24/1/21
"This album brings together a scintillating and eclectic mix of songs primarily from the more recent Magnum output. All the tracks demonstrate the continuing power and quality of Catley's vocal abilities, despite his advancing years. In many ways his seasoned voice has improved in character and expression. The album also showcases the unabated quality of compositions that Clarkin continues to write. Ultimately the overall enduring success of the band is their unrelenting creative inventiveness and their adept ability to balance the AOR Melodic side with a more Progressive Hard Rock angle. Definitely a winning formula." Check out today both Steven C. Gilbert's take on Magnum's latest album, 'Dance Of The Black Tattoo', released earlier this month, plus our Video Of The Day.
- Borderline Laurence Jones 23/1/21
"Are you having good time?" as we returned to another stand-out from 'The Truth' 'Can't Go On Without You' which again saw Holland's keys sparring with another Jones solo before he played the metal riff from the title track - a song, that Laurence told me in a really enjoyable interview beforehand, reflects inward personal sacrifices - such as being a musician - "Do you ever wonder what it would be like to have a different life?" That was part of our Laurence Jones gig review at London's much missed Borderline three years ago to the day today and we go back in time for today's Podcast Of The Day as we were lucky enough to interview Laurence before his soundcheck.
