  • Bioscope's Gentō 30/7/25

    A deeply atmospheric journey where two distinct musical worlds converge, 'Gentō', out on Friday 22nd August on earMUSIC, is the highly anticipated debut album from Bioscope, a collaborative project from Marilion guitar maestro Steve Rothery and Tangerine Dream's electronic composer Thorsten Quaeschning, of which today's cinematic title track Video Of The Day offers an exciting second glimpse into the duo's intriguing fusion and perfect blend between Progressive Rock and ambient music. Ahead of a European mainland tour in December. the album also features an extraordinary performance by Elbow drummer Alex Reeves, with each of the five instrumental tracks drawing inspiration from man's endearing fascination with the moving image, from soaring guitar themes that recall the best of Progressive Rock to sequencer-driven passages rooted in Berlin School Electronica.

    For fans of Meshuggah, TesseracT and Devin Townsend, Kyiv Prog Metal quintet Korypheus release their upcoming ten-track album, 'Gilgamesh' on Friday 26th September via M-Theory Audio, a blend of Modern Alternative and Progressive Metal, of which their second single, 'Odysseus', is today's Video Of The Day. Nominated for the Best Ukrainian Metal Act Award in 2020, the band has gained recognition for its powerful music and has been active in the Metal scene with various projects, having already got two albums under its belt, EP 'Blessed' (2018) and LP 'Over the Rainbow' (2020) released via France's M&O Music.
