- Bloodstock Festival Review 19/8/21
"Just what my soul, mind, body and heart needed so much, although my liver will argue against this. Highlights? Every bloody band and it just goes to show what was invariably a thrown together largely British festival can do. Vicky et al may have been panicking a bit but I am so glad this paid of big style. A lot of bands will no doubt have found themselves on main stage slots where they didn’t expect, but they pulled it off better than the money shot in a porn scene." With another one of our much needed festival reviews in our WRC pipeline, today we have Tony Burgum's take on Bloodstock, that took place at Catton Park, Walton On Trent, Derbyshire, last weekend, plus check out our Vid Of The Day of Devin Townsend's 'Deadhead', that gives you another feel of what we have all been missing festival-wise!

For fans of Queens of the Stone Age, The Wildhearts, Blink 182, and featuring special guests Ally Dickaty (The Virginmarys) and Jesse Hughes (The Eagles of Death Metal), Nuneaton's Dig Lazarus release their new album, 'Don’t Threaten Me With a Good Time', on Friday 15th October, that captures the journey of teenage wannabes finding their voice through balls-out Rock n’ Roll, and one of their tracks, 'Joker', is also one of today's six of the best 'Wednesday Rocks!' Tracks Of The Day, complemented by five further forthcoming and recent releases from Adarrak, Seething Akira, EMT, Byron Nemeth Group and Brainstorm.
- Xander And The Peace Pirates Interview 18/8/21
Probably the most surreal interview of the 2017 Ramblin' Man Fair weekend, took place with Liverpool's Xander And The Peace Pirates, so listen to today's Podcast Of The Day where the former Cavern residents discuss their Soul, Blues and Rock influences plus their debut album '11:11'. Unbelievably, for some reason, this really great bunch of guys did not have access to the media area and we ended up doing the interview outside with Keith Xander (lead guitar/vocals, Stuart Xander (guitars), Mike Gay (slide guitar, guitar/vocals), Joel Goldberg (bass) and Adam Goldberg (drums) - where we found out that they had already played The Rising Stage despite the RMF itinerary saying it was Sunday. Would you also believe that the guys follow up interview was with Nicky Horne, no less, and our valiant attempt to locate Nicky in the media area for XATPP was unfortunately unsuccessful (you couldn't make it up).
- The Devil's Son 18/8/21
Australian singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, recording engineer and producer, Scott Von Ryper, is already known for being a founding member of the Australian duo The Black Ryder, and a touring member of the iconic Scottish group The Jesus and Mary Chain, but now he is set to release his debut solo album, 'Dream State Treasure', in October via tran-si-ent, and the first track from the album, ‘The Devil’s Son’, is today's Video Of The Day. ‘Dream State Treasure’ was primarily recorded and mixed in Von Ryper’s home studio between 2018 - 2020, with Scott playing most of the instruments, with additional input from Los Angeles engineer Norm Block, who also played drums on the record. Von Ryper will also be touring Europe in November with The Jesus And Mary Chain.
- Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells Review 17/8/21
"Hearing the music again after many decades was so enjoyable, and, more to the point, hearing live music again so satisfying. For the performers themselves we can only guess at the emotional wreckage of the past year or so, and hope that the projected world tour over the next two years can indeed go ahead." Today we have Stuart Law's complete take below on Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells, that took place at London's Royal Festival Hall last Friday, plus check out our 1973 Mike Oldfield BBC Video Of The Day that complement's Stuart's review.

- Camp Bestival Review 16/8/21
"My reward for hiding away from Fat Boy Slim and looking after the kids, was to be allowed to venture up to the front on my own for a couple of bands I actually really wanted to see. The first of these was The Sherlocks, a youthful band from Barnsley who had embarked on a epic 10 hour drive to get to Dorset. A hard working band, who are now beginning to get their just rewards as they smashed their set."
