  • Canons Under Flowers Rise 2/10/21

Lincoln's ace guitarist and session player, Eddie Tatton, recently signed a deal with Stunted Records for the worldwide release on Friday 15th October of his debut album, 'Canons Under Flowers', of which the beautiful track, 'Rise', is today's Video Of The Day. Touted by Guitarist Magazine as far back as 1999 as "one of the young British Blues players to watch", Eddie picked up accolades for work with band Out of the Blue, with a dynamic style melding Robben Ford with the poise of Larry Carlton. With vocal contributions from Mozez, Lynne Jackaman, James Manners and some of the best musicians in their field, he has drawn inspiration from all his past influences, set in a landscape that nods to George Harrison in India, Laurel Canyon in 1969, plus the dark beauty of Massive Attack and the subtle Progressive stylings of Steven Wilson.

  • Dee Back To Rock UK 1/10/21

"Although those lucky enough to witness their set, immediately warmed to the USA/UK seven piece consisting of the cowboy hatted, dreadlocked and shades wearing Dee on guitar and vocals, more than ably supported by guitar, bass, keys, violin, drums and backing vocals/tambourine. The all too short set also included the Southern Rockin' 'Ripples On The Moon' from his 2010 album 'The Road Ain't Long' and the inspirational 'Southern Summer Night', the soulful 'Long Way Home' and the native American roots Rock of 'Wild Mustang', all from his latest album, plus also the heartfelt 'Other Side', which Dee poignantly dedicated to a dear friend of his. Talking to all-round nice guy Dee afterwards, the good news was that he would be returning to the UK next May. Do not miss him." That was part of our take when we saw Dee Rock at London's Dublin Castle back in November 2019 (pictured), and we were delighted to learn that Nashville artist Dee is returning to these shores later this month, with a London date still to be arranged, plus two shows in Ilfracombe, namely The Halloween Ball and The Legends Of Rock Festival on Sunday 7th November, but in the meantime check out today's Video Of The Day, 'Bite Em Right Back', the single taken from his new album, 'Time For Livin', released throughDr Johns Surgery Records.

  • Steve Hackett London Palladium Review 30/9/21

"The band took their applause and left the stage, returning after a few minutes to deliver an encore of ‘Slogans’ (so, a bit of ‘Defector’ after all) and ‘Los Endos’. Would it be churlish to say I quite wanted to see ‘Dance on a Volcano’ and ‘Los Endos’ in full? Yes, I think it would. Forget I mentioned it." Today read the whole of Mark C's take below on Steve Hackett at The London Palladium last Wednesday night, the third and final night of his capital city tenure, and part of his current 'Seconds Out + More' UK tour, plus check out our 'Video Of The Day' of 'Shadow of the Hierophant'.

Exactly three years ago today, we interviewed Federal Charm guitarist Paul Bowe and drummer Josh Zahler in advance of their set with The Bad Flowers and Those Damn Crows at London's The Borderline, which is today's Podcast Of The Day.
