"The Torquay 4 piece produce some excellent swampy Blues Rock that really made them stand out from the crowd. Barras sports an oilcan/junkbox guitar for some excellent slide guitar before switching back to his trusty strat for regular Blues rocking. Piano/keys from Josiah Manning bring a melodic accompaniment to the great groove. They were hugely appreciated by the large crowd lapping up the sun, and the excellent beers." Today's animated lyric Video Of The Day is Marcus King's rendition of Neal Casal's 'No One Above You', that becomes the sixth single released from 'Highway Butterfly: The Songs Of Neal Casal', due out on Friday 12th November via The Neal Casal Music Foundation and Royal Potato Family, a 41-song tribute to the late songwriter and musician who passed away in August 2019. Featuring guitarist Eric Krasno and joined by a band that includes keyboardist Adam MacDougall, additional guitarist Jesse Aycock, bassist Dave Schools and drummer Tony Leone, King turns Casal's reflective acoustic ballad from his 2001 album, 'Anytime Tomorrow', into a soaring Southern Soul tour-de-force. It's yet another shining example of Casal's accomplished songwriting that never received its due in his lifetime. All proceeds from sales and streams will benefit the Neal Casal Music Foundation, a 501c3 non-profit formed in 2020, which provides musical instruments and lessons to students in New Jersey and New York state schools where Casal was born and raised, while also donating proceeds to mental health organisations that support musicians, including MusiCares and Backline.

Australian singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, recording engineer and producer, Scott Von Ryper, is already known for being a founding member of the Australian duo The Black Ryder (with Aimee Nash – his ex-wife), and a touring member for the last eight years of the iconic Scottish group The Jesus and Mary Chain, and today he releases his debut solo album, 'Dream State Treasure', via tran-si-ent and on Silver Door Music, with 'Over And Over' being today's Video Of The Day. ‘Dream State Treasure’ was primarily recorded and mixed in Von Ryper’s home studio between 2018 - 2020, with Scott playing most of the instruments, with additional input from Los Angeles engineer Norm Block, who also played drums on the record. Von Ryper will also be touring Europe in November and December with The Jesus And Mary Chain.
