For fans of High on Fire, Inter Arma and their aforementioned label-mates, their 2019 debut album, 'Under a Blood Moon', was a powerhouse that most certainly established the band‘s incendiary potential. Their entire sound flows like thick, viscous lava, as new bassist Nicklas Hellqvist increases the thunder rumble tenfold, complementing vocalist/guitarist Mattias Nööjd‘s guttural yet melodic howls and drummer Axel Wittbeck‘s groove based rhythms.
- Jack J. Hutchinson Band Gig Review 8/2/22
"It was really good to hear the new songs played so well and in a room with decent acoustics, although I still hope the enthusiastic reception for the heavier sound will not draw Jack permanently or too far away from the Blues which first drew many of us to his playing (in my case, back in 2014). Only time will tell, but for now it’s definitely a case of onwards and upwards for one of the hardest working bands out there." Today, Gary Smith gives us his considered opinion of the Jack J. Hutchinson Band's recent London O2 Academy Islington gig from last Thursday 3rd February, plus check out our 'War Pigs' Video Of The Day.
