- Bewitching Kalkas 29/3/22
With naturalistic Post-Doom, including Stoner and Psych-Rock elements, Swiss trio Kalkas release their debut album 'Envoûtante sève' on Friday 8th April through Table Basse Records, and the Lausane band recently premiered a first glance from the album with today's Video Of The Day of "Au milieu du feu, il est leur guide". Emerging from the amazing Swiss scene in 2019, Kalkas develop a conceptual universe around issues related to climate change and the anger this causes among the various members of the band. In a romantic and dualistic approach, this album offers a first dive into the subdued atmosphere of a dark autumnal and forest mist, punctuated with narrative and poetic vocal passages, that gives a first vision of this new world, under construction.

- Elles Bailey Omeara Review 28/3/22
"'Cheats and Liars' is not afraid to vent at the hypocrisy that some of us have had to face over the last two years as well as taking the form of a Country standard, she mixes it well and left a unanimous crowd spellbound by the end. Credit must also go to a much disciplined band who are capable in their own right, but allow her voice to dominate proceedings. I took her recommendation and ordered a large whisky before leaving this classic and memorable gig." Ivan De Mello caught both Elles Bailey and support Simeon Hammond Dallas at Elles 'Shining in Half the Light' album launch at London Bridge's Omeara earlier this month, so today check out Ivan's review, today's Video Of The Day plus our photo gallery, courtesy of Ivan, AJ, Simon Green and Tim Russell.

- Bert Ruiter 26/3/22
An awesome performance by Focus at Camden's Powerhaus in London on Thursday night (pictured) was tempered as frontman Thijs Van Leer broke the sad news that former band member Bert Ruiter had passed away earlier that day at the age of 75.
