Flying the flag as one of the best emerging Heavy Doom bands, and with smoke swirling around some very cool stoner flourishes, at the end of last month, Stoned Rocka's very own Son Of Boar, released today's live-in-the-studio Video Of The Day of their latest dark, doomy and heavy tune, 'Darkest Light', a tease of what's to come on their yet to be recorded second album. Surging forward with their tusks up following last year's superb self-titled debut album, it's one of their favourite songs from their latest batch, and despite all that 2020 brought with it, the band consisting of Gareth Bates - bass, Lyndon Birchall - guitar, Luke Doran - drums, Luke Oliver - vocals and Adam Waddell - guitar, remain undeterred as they stomp their way to the forefront with the heaviest of riffs, dopest of grooves and the confidence and swagger of the heavy beast that they are.

We saw the awesome Black Orchid Empire headline at Camden's Monarch in London, way back in early February 2017, and today's Podcast Of The Day is our interview with New Zealander Dave Ferguson (bass/vocals), American Billy Freedom (drums) and Brit Paul Visser (vocals/guitar) backstage beforehand. Multi-platinum selling supergroup Asia, are to release 'Asia In Asia - Live At The Budokan, Tokyo, 1983', through BMG Records on Friday 10th June, featuring Geoff Downes (The Buggles and Yes, keyboards and backing vocals), Steve Howe (Yes, guitars and backing vocals) and Carl Palmer (Emerson, Lake and Palmer, drums) with special guest Greg Lake (Emerson, Lake and Palmer, bass and lead vocals), of which 'Soul Survivor' is today's Video Of The Day. Asia visited Japan at the end of two years of touring to promote their phenomenally successful eponymous debut album (1982) and the follow-up 'Alpha' (1983), with Lake stepping in, at short notice, following the sudden departure of Asia’s founder member John Wetton ahead of the Japanese dates. The second of three shows, it made history as the first live broadcast between Japan and MTV in America, featuring some of Asia’s biggest and most memorable tracks including, 'Time Again', 'Only Time Will Tell', 'Wildest Dreams' and the global hit single 'Heat Of The Moment'.

After what seems like an eternity, Monsieur Big Boy Bloater and his LiMiTs finally return to London's 100 Club tonight, in the middle of their 5-date UK tour, and for today's Podcast Of The Day, we go back exactly six years ago today, when we not only saw Bloater blow the bloody doors off the very same iconic venue, but we also managed to interview the big man before his set.
