This is a great line-up of three extremely talented musicians in their own fields coming together for one very special gig.

Ryo Okumoto, long-time keyboard wizard for Prog Rock group Spock’s Beard, releases his new solo album, ‘The Myth of the Mostrophus’, on Friday 29th July on InsideOutMusic, a six song star-studded Prog extravaganza featuring Okumoto’s signature style accompanied by the talents of a who’s who of Progressive Rock, and his single, 'The Watchmaker', provides a tantalising taste of what is to come, with the heavy rhythm and searing guitar leads of Lyle Workman, along with the thundering bass of Dave Meros, both in perfect sync with the propulsive drumming of Jonathan Mover, underneath the unmistakably classic sounds of Okumoto's Hammond B3, Jupiter 8 and Minimoog synths, christened by the soaring vocals of album co-writer Michael Whiteman, which is also one of today's six of the best Wednesday Rocks! October 2020 saw the release of ‘Everybody Moves, Nobody Gets Hurt’, the fifth LP from The Great Affairs, and now, midway through 2022, the Nashville, Tennessee outfit, now with Corey “Rizzo” Rozzoni (Burden Bros.) on lead guitar, have commenced work on a follow up, as the new material finds the band delivering more of the Pop-infused Classic Rock stylings they’ve become known for, albeit with a slightly harder edge this time around, and on Friday 8th July, in advance of the full-length, the band are releasing their ‘StrangeLuv’ EP, which includes three remixes from the last album, featuring the current line-up, plus two versions of the title track, of which the sweet radio edit is one of today's six of the best 'Tuesday Rocks!' "You wouldn’t typically regard Basingstoke as being the epicentre of Blues music, or any kind of music really (apologies if it is in fact home to a unique form of Hampshire folk or similar, tap and spoons maybe) but it is hard to imagine that there was anywhere else on the entire planet that hosted anything that matched the combined talents of these two fantastic guitarists on this particular night, the end of an all too short tour by the two artists. What made it all the more pleasurable was to watch and listen to the music outside of London in a venue with decent acoustics and, praise be to the patron saint of photographers, decent lighting." Playing songs from all three albums as well as new tracks off an unreleased fourth album, next month, Aussie Rockers Massive begin their "10 Years, Still Massive" tour, and for today's Podcast Of The Day we turn the clock back almost exactly five years ago, when we managed to interview singer/guitarist Brad Marr before their set at the Stone Free Festival at London's O2 Arena.
