  • Wednesday Rocks! 22/2/23

Released last Friday by Nordic Records, 'Unfold' is the fifth solo album from experimental Oslo Pop artist Synne Sanden, who not only combines the catchy and the beautiful, with the quirky, expressive and raw, and creates songs and soundscapes where you can hear her unique signature, but she also writes about the things we find difficult and vulnerable to talk about, of which her album track, 'Firewood', is also one of today's six of the best 'Wednesday Rocks!' Tracks Of The Day, complemented by five further forthcoming and recent releases from Iron Lizards, Jason Charles Miller featuring Austin Hanks, The Trousers, The Room and Nightwölff.

  • Revivalists Kid 22/2/23

Just over four years after their memorable sold out debut at London's iconic 100 Club, and ahead of their welcome return to this year's New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival at end of April/beginning of May, The Revivalists have just released today's Video Of The Day for 'Kid', from their upcoming album ‘Pour It Out Into The Night’, due out on Friday 2nd June. Indeed, The Revs success story continues, although it only seems like yesterday that Rick Menniti's 2014 'Message From America' covered the Houston leg of their Texas tour, before they broke onto the scene back in 2015, with their double platinum Billboard Hot 100 hit 'Wish I Knew You', and since then, the eight-piece Rock band has amassed more than 800 million streams courtesy of hits such as 'Change' and 'All My Friends'.

  • Robert Jon & The Wreck Sittingbourne Review 21/2/23

"Let’s say that as far as this audience is concerned, the guys are preaching to the converted, demonstrated by how many sang along to virtually every tune and the generous smattering of band t-shirts on show - but quite right too, this talented bunch of musicians deserve every plaudit flying in their direction. Whether it’s Blues, Southern tinged Rock, a hint of Prog or ballad, the band classily deliver them all." Similar to the lyrics of that American classic, 'New York, New York', Robert Jon & The Wreck are so good that the WRC had to see them twice, following their stand out performance at London's PowerHaus recently, so Les Linyard had the pleasure last Saturday of taking in the final date of their UK tour at Sittingbourne's Bourne Music Club, supported by Bywater Call's Meghan Parnell and Dave Barnes, therefore not only check out Les's complete take today, plus his photos, complemented by some equally brilliant photos from John 'Mr. Rockrpix' Bull, but also watch today's Video Of The Day of 'Who Can You Love', recorded at Aberdeen's Tunnels four nights earlier.

  • The Ruts Mighty Crack 20/2/23

Originally released on Virgin in 1979, representing the very apex of politically conscious British Post-Punk, Proper Records, in collaboration with Universal Music Recordings, have just reissued on vinyl, 'The Crack', the debut LP from the much-loved The Ruts, of which the Punk iconoclasts are today's Video Of The Day, filmed in 1980 at Théâtre de l'Empire in Paris. Comprising of guitarist Paul Fox, vocalist Malcolm Owen, drummer Dave Ruffy and bassist John ‘Segs’ Jennings, the band, formed in West London in 1977, played many Rock Against Racism benefit concerts and rose to prominence supporting The Damned in early 1979. The iconic album artwork by John Howard (pictured) shows the members of the group seated on a large sofa, surrounded by their contemporaries like Rat Scabies and Captain Sensible of The Damned, Jimmy Pursey of Sham 69, Peter Cook and Dudley Moore, John Peel on the left, as Jimi Hendrix looks on from the right.
