- Martin Turner Boom Boom Photo Gallery 10/3/23
Martin Turner's ex Wishbone Ash 2023 "Live Dates" tour celebrates the 50th anniversary of Wishbone Ash's seminal 1973 double live album, and not only was Steven C Gilbert at Sutton's Boom Boom Club leg of the tour to capture some great photos in our Photo Gallery, but today's Video Of The Day of 'Warrior' and 'Throw Down The Sword', was filmed earlier on in February at Tielt's Patersdreef in Belgium. Martin formed the first of the Martin Turner’s Wishbone Ash touring bands back in 2005. Sadly, in 2013, Andy Powell took legal action to protect the Wishbone Ash registered trademark and prevent Turner from using the name. The court ruled in favour of Andy and Martin's application to appeal was refused. Since 2014 he has toured and recorded as "Martin Turner ex Wishbone Ash". The current line-up features Turner (bass/vocals), Danny Willson (guitar/vocals), Misha Nikolic (guitar) and newest recruit Sonny Flint (drums), with the two-part Sutton set list including Set 1: The King Will Come, Warrior, Throw Down the Sword, Rock 'n Roll Widow, Ballad of the Beacon, Baby What You Want Me to Do, Blind Eye and Phoenix, with Set 2 showcasing: Lady Whiskey, The Pilgrim, F·U·B·B, You See Red, Living Proof, Blowin' Free, Doctor and Jail Bait.

- Friday Rocks! 10/3/23
"The unenviable task of following the previous glory fell to 'Focus 7' (always amuses me that it is from the 'Focus 9' album). Introduced as a band favourite to play by Thijs, it gave (particularly) guitarist Menno Gootjes another chance to shine gloriously." That was part of our take the last time we saw 2022 WRC award winning Focus at Chislehurst's The Beaverwood last November, so we were recently delighted to hear of Menno's side project, Dutch Heavy Metal rockers, Black Nazareth, also consisting of bass guitarist Henry Mcilveen (Threnody), vocalist Daniël de Jongh (Textures), keyboardist Martijn Spierenburg (Within Temptation) and new, but well known drummer, Darby Todd (Martin Barre), already with a new self titled mini album under their belts through Italy's Wormholedeath Records, plus another recently released single, 'True Self', which is also one of today's six of the best 'Friday Rocks!' Tracks Of The Day, complemented by five further recent and forthcoming releases from Iron Jinn, Blade, The Resolve, Trish Discord and Rolla.
- Thomas Wynn Interview 9/3/23
For today's Podcast Of The Day, we go back to June 2018, when Orlando’s Thomas Wynn And The Believers opened The Outlaw Country Stage at Ramblin' Man Fair in Mote Park, Maidstone, Kent, and an interview we had with brother and sister Thomas and Olivia after their excellent set. Listen as we talked about their then hugely successful UK tour with The Temperance Movement, their US Tour with Myles Kennedy plus their album 'Wade Waist Deep’ which was released in May 2017 via Mascot Records/Mascot Label Group and recorded with four-time Grammy award-winning producer, Vance Powell (The White Stripes, Jack White, Chris Stapleton).

- Tuesday Rocks! 7/3/23
Featuring musicians who played on the first TBelly album, 'Dead Men Don't Pray', and recorded just the second time Russell Keefe's solo project went into the studio, 'We Met On A Train' sadly fell down the back of a sofa, but this never forgotten/much loved romp of a song with great musicianship, masses of melodrama and giant vocals, is now back to see the light of day as the keyboard player and joint lead vocalist of Slade, finally releases it as a new single today, which is also one of today's six of the best 'Tuesday Rocks!' Tracks Of The Day, complemented by five further recent and forthcoming releases from Abandon All, Black Market Karma (Joakim Ahlund Remix), Dun Ringill, The Daydream District and Hellz.
- Gary Rossington 7/3/23
"Coming onstage to rapturous applause, following a burst of AC/DC's ‘Thunderstruck’, Lynyrd Skynyrd stood comfortably on stage. Ricky Medlocke, Mark Matejka and the only original member, Gary Rossington, all filling out that big guitar sound Lynyrd Skynyrd is famous for, the band really couldn't miss." That was part of our take just under eight years ago when we reviewed Lynyrd Skynyrd at London's Hammersmith Apollo, and sadly on Sunday we lost the last surviving member of the original Southern Rock band, guitarist Gary Rossington (pictured right), at the age of 71, and once again today, we let the music do the talking, as we dedicate today's Video Of The Day of 'I Need You' to Gary, recorded on that very same night in April 2015.
