  • Pat McManus Band Chislehurst Review 17/3/23

"An upbeat take on another classic, Dylan's 'Blowin' In The Wind', was followed by a similar legend. "Let's hear it for Rory!" McManus shouted. "Still can't hear ya", before Pat relented and treated us, and I mean treated us to Gallagher's 'What's Going On'. As McManus described it, "a strange little track from my first album", the instrumental 'Juggernaut', resulted in traffic in the aisles, as a couple danced, without going full Riverdance, before the sharp dressed trio covered ZZ Top which included a snippet of another classic riff, Quo's 'Caroline'." With St. Patrick's Day today, the beautiful Beaverwood marquee in Chislehurst, was festooned on Tuesday night with the Irish tricolour, for singer and songwriter Pat McManus Band's gig, who in recent years has been named as one of the top five top Irish guitarists of all time, so today not only read AJ's complete sharing of the craic from the shindig, but also check out out Les Linyard's superb Photo Gallery plus our 'Belfast Boy' Video Of The Day, filmed on the night.

  • Ana Popovic + Toby Lee Faversham Photo Gallery 16/3/23

"It was then time to slow things down slightly with the beautifully constructed, 'Paper Aeroplanes', which was followed by another from 'Aquarius', 'The Search For Happiness', that inevitably drew comparisons with the mannerisms of a young Joe Bonamassa, the floppy hair, another incredible guitar solo, and a strong vocal that belies his years, that will only, like JB, mature and getter better over time." That was part of our take when we saw special guest Toby Lee, a former recipient of the 2018 UK Blues Awards Young Blues Artist of the Year, with Serbian Blues singer and guitarist Ana Popovic at London's O2 Academy Islington last Friday night, and the following night the pair played Faversham's The Old Brewery Store, so not only check out today John 'Mr. Rockrpix' Bull's awesome photos from the gig, but also watch today's Video Of The Day of Toby performing Jeff Healey's, 'See The Light', the following night at Southampton's The Brook. Indeed, that was the last night of the internationally renowned artist's five-date UK headline tour, and Ana's compelling new eleven-track album, 'Power', the result of her recent journey battling breast cancer, is due to be released on ArtisteXclusive Records on Friday 5th May.
