Fusing roaring Blues solos over his Funk-laden arrangements, British guitarist, singer and songwriter, Thomas Atlas, stopped off at Coulsdon's Tuesday Night Music Club this week, and not only do we have John 'Mr. Rockrpix' Bull's excellent Photo Gallery from the gig, but also check out today's awesome Video Of The Day of the local boy made good, returning to Birmingham's The Jam House with his full band earlier this month. Featuring Jack Bowels - drums, George Cook - bass, Andre Bassing - keys, Sam Rogers - sax and Ilias - percussion, the guitarist/vocalist, formerly known as Thomas C Walker, collaborated with boutique record label, Hillside Global, in 2021, on his self-titled, ten-track debut studio album, taking influences from Maceo Parker and George Duke, while keeping true to his vision.

"Without a 'Solas' track in sight, tonight was a statement of intent by County Down's finest, returning to their much-missed roots of Blues-influenced Classic Rock, with a 'craicing' live set that was a delightful mixture of classic Answer singalong songs, complemented by some just as equally strong fresh material from the just released 'Sundowners'. With the final night of their UK tour taking place at Belfast's Limelight tonight, continuing with more dates in mainland Europe, the good news is that the guys are also playing Ebbw Vale's Steelhouse Festival at the end of July. Do not miss them." Ahead of their enormous 33-date US Spring/Summer tour that begins next month with support from Shovels & Rope, Americana roots band The Wood Brothers recently released 'Line Those Pockets', the second single to be released from the band's forthcoming album, 'Heart Is The Hero', due out on Friday 14th April on Honey Jar/Thirty Tigers, accompanied by today's lyric Video Of The Day that highlights the song's message of empathy and compassion centred around the stirring refrain: "Everybody's just trying to be happy, line those pockets with grace." A true collaboration, the song was co-written between all three members, brothers Oliver and Chris Wood and honorary sibling Jano Rix, and was recorded analog to 16-track tape, as was the entirety of 'Heart Is The Hero'.
