  • The Pale Moon 3/4/23

For fans of both Opeth’s 'Deliverance' and 'Damnation' albums, and having recently signed to InsideOutMusic, Norwegian Progressive Rock/Metal group, Avkrvst, will release their debut album, 'The Approbation’, on Friday 16th June, and the band have also shared today's Video Of The Day for their first single, ’The Pale Moon’. At the age of just seven, Martin Utby (composer, drummer and synths) and Simon Bergseth (composer, guitars, bass and vocals), made a pact that they would form a band when they got older. Now, 22 years later, they’ve done just that, 55 minutes of music inspired by everything they grew up listening to, from Mew, Anekdoten and Porcupine Tree to Neal Morse and King Crimson.

  • Albany Down + Hell On Tap Beaverwood Photo Gallery 2/4/23

Was it really over seven years ago now that contemporary Blues-Rock band, and former WRC award winners, Albany Down, not only appeared at our 2015 BluesRockFest on a memorable Independence Day at the Red Lion in Gravesend, but also later that year, headlined our Christmas bash at The Horn In St. Albans? Well, on Thursday night they were back in the Garden Of England, now as a three-piece, playing The Beaverwood in Chislehurst, with support from exciting local Classic Rock covers band, Hell On Tap, and today we not only have John 'Mr.Rockrpix's Photo Gallery from the gig, but also check out our Albany Down Video Of The Day, filmed last July at Ross On Wye's Linton Festival.

Just make sure that you join us!" Our half-yearly pilgrimage to see the wonderful, diminutive Bluestress, Chantel McGregor, took us to London's iconic The Half Moon in Putney on Wednesday night, surprisingly a first for Chantel as we later found out, although the bonus ball was the support of the aptly named Half Moon Panic, who we saw supporting Laurence Jones in Sevenoaks at the end of January, so not only check out today AJ's complete review, but also Chris Griffith's awesome photos plus McGregor's spellbinding, 'Anaesthetise' Video Of The Day, filmed on the night.

  • Dead Shaman Grounded 31/3/23

For fans of Earthless, Hawkwind and The Who, Proto Heavy-Rock x Dirty Blues power-trio, Dead Shaman, deliver a fuzzy maelstrom infused with the weirdest sounds of the 60s and the 70s, when they release their upcoming album, 'Under the Influence', this Friday 31st March via Sixteentimes Music, of which the first audio excerpt from their sophomore effort, the single 'Grounded', is today's Video Of The Day. With both a moonshine smell plus Space-Rock from the fifth dimension, the Swiss outfit released their first full length album, ‘Out Of Phase’, in early 2020, named in tribute to the great Peter Green and his legendary 1959 Les Paul sound. Combining an A-side made of five high energy numbers and a B-side composed by one long smokey Sunday morning jam, their debut LP will also show you the full spectrum of a band who loves to take different directions.

  • Hayseed Dixie + The Hot Damn! Garage Review 30/3/23

"Proving the class of the originals, these somewhat stripped back versions are instant singalongs and make for a fantastic atmosphere, such as particular favourites, 'Hells Bells', 'Paranoid', 'War Pigs' and a superb 'Ace of Spades', but it’s all so much fun, including their originals littered through the set, that walking back from the camera pit through the crowd, I was met by a mass of smiles. It’s engrossing and highly recommended - even if you just go once to see them, you really must go!" Bluegrass rockers, Hayseed Dixie, who started out as an Appalachian style tribute to AC/DC, playing traditional instruments such as fiddle, and then branched out, playing songs by other Rock luminaries, as well as a few original compositions, stopped off at London's The Garage last Thursday night, on their 16-date UK tour, with special guests, the Queens of “colourful chaos”, The Hot Damn!, so today not only read Les Linyard's complete take on the gig, but also check out Les's photos plus our 'Highway To Hell'/'Freebird' Video Of The Day, filmed the night before at The Old Fire Station in Bournemouth.
