  • Steve Hillage Band London/Brighton Review 11/4/23

    Legendary Psychedelic rocker Steve Hillage is back on the road with his band for a twelve date UK tour dubbed ‘The Golden Vibe’ tour, their first live dates since 2019, and if current rumours are to be true, their last, so thankfully not only was Steven C. Gilbert at their gig at London's The Forum on Saturday 1st April, but he was also there the following night at Brighton's Concorde 2, so check out below Steve's combined take on both gigs, plus see his complementary photos and view today's 'Solar Musick Suite' Video Of The Day from the second night.

    Keeping the Blues as an essential starting point, last Friday The BluesBones released their seventh album, 'Unchained', comprising eight brand new songs, but still with the band's signature sound, combining different Blues genres in one album, such as 'I Cry', dedicated to the band's late drummer, Koen Mertens (2016 to 2019), of which their new single is also one of today's six of the best 'Easter Monday Rocks!'   • Existential Reckoning: Re-Wired 10/4/23

    Ahead of both a North American tour this May/June, followed closely by a European tour in June/July, that includes Donington's Download Festival on Thursday 8th June, at the end of last month, Puscifer released their star-studded 'Existential Reckoning: Re-Wired', a track-by-track re-imagining of the band’s critically-acclaimed album, via Puscifer Entertainment/Alchemy Recordings/BMG, and today's Video Of The Day was their third preview of the album, a visualiser for 'Apocalyptical', re-imagined by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross. Originally released in December 2020, and born somewhere in the Arizona desert, Puscifer are an Electro-Rock band, multimedia experience, traveling circus and alien abduction survivors, well renowned for an immersive live show, blurring the lines between concert and theatre.

  • Kyros Lower Third Gig 9/4/23

    London Prog Gigs present the first Progressive music event at The Lower Third, Charing Cross Road, London WC2H 8LH, part of the impressive new Outernet development at Tottenham Court Road/Denmark Street in central London, next Sunday 16th April, featuring headliners Modern Synth-Prog outfit Kyros, who are today's Video Of the Day, featuring 'Rumour' live at last year's High Taste At Home online festival, plus support from unashamed Progressive Rock band, I Am The Manic Whale. The 16th century forge at the heart of the former 12-bar club has been preserved and resited in the upstairs cocktail bar, while downstairs boasts an impressive new 200 standing capacity, fully equipped, live music venue and bar. The name references David Bowie's former 1960s band before he became a solo star.

    For fans of Russian Circles, Yob and Amenra, and the new musical endeavour of Adam Kravitz (ex-Gritter) on guitar/synths/videos, Sean Plunkett on bass and Kevin White (ex-Throtterod) on drums, American heavy instrumental trio, Future Projektor, from Richmond, Virginia, create heavy atmospheric soundscapes, playing ambient instrumental Metal to custom videos, such as today's trippy Video Of The Day of their concept album, 'The Kybalion', released towards the end of last year, comprising of one song in seven parts based on the Hermetic Principles of life.
