- Wednesday Rocks! 17/5/23
The brainchild of guitarist/songwriter David Thomas from the Limestone Coast, South Australia, with a penchant for all things Shoegaze and Dream Pop, Hey Calamity puts their stamp on a genre which brings both dark and light to its sonic canvas, who released their debut, 'Desperation' last year, following that up last month with their latest album, 'Lulu', of which the album track, 'Misfits', is also one of today's six of the best 'Wednesday Rocks!' Tracks Of The Day, complemented by five further recent and forthcoming releases from Summon The Moon featuring Mike Sanders, Elysion, Rylos, Bike and Phil Jamieson.
- Feel So Good Jamie 16/5/23
Ahead of joining “Rock 'n' Roll livewires”, Kira Mac, as special guests on their Summer Downfall UK headline tour that kicks off tomorrow at Chester's Live Rooms, yesterday North Wales based rockers Jamie Porter Band, released their brand new single, ‘Feel So Good', an unashamedly feel good Rock n Roll song that not only takes Jamie back to his core influences from the world of Blues boogie and shuffle, but it's also today's Video Of The Day. Joined by Jason Edmunds on drums, Jamie once again showcases his musical ability by performing all the instruments on the track (vocals/guitars/bass/keys), and given the way he writes and records, there is also a modern twist with the song oozing road worn authenticity with the grit and gravelly tones that are so familiar in his previous works. Jamie's band also has a brand new live line up for 2023, with Simon Waterhouse joining him on drums, Dave Paveley on bass and backing vocals, plus Tom Rogowski of Mad Haven, guesting on guitar and backing vocals.
