  • Cregan & Co Beaverwood Photo Gallery 1/6/23

    When the Faces broke up in 1975, Rod Stewart started his own band including influential guitarist, Jim Cregan, who co-produced, co-wrote and was Rod's musical director for nearly two decades, and last Thursday at Kent's The Beaverwood in Chislehurst, Jim's Cregan & Co, comprising four further outstanding musicians, namely Ben Mills (vocals/guitar), Harry James (drums), Pat Davey (bass) and Sam Tanner (keys), performed that well-loved heritage music, including songs from Jim's 45 year career, including Cat Stevens, Cockney Rebel and Family, and indeed John 'Mr. Rockrpix' Bull was there to capture the gig, so not only have a gander at JB's Photo Gallery, but also check out our Video Of The Day of 'Spreading Rumours'.

    With tickets still available at www.AlfoldRockBlues.com this year's Alfold Rock & Blues Festival takes place over the long weekend of the 29th June to the 2nd July, and today's Alfold Rocks! Tracks Of The Day showcase six of the many great bands taking part, namely Gerry Jablonski Band, Focus, When Rivers Meet, The Milk Men, Brave Rival and Chantel McGregor.

    Though called “Jazz and Heritage”, the seven days of this recent New Orleans Festival are as diverse as any music event you can find, given it does have Jazz and does have Heritage, but it also has a Blues tent, a Gospel tent, along with the Jazz Tent, as well as nine other stages of music that offer every genre you can name, and indeed our American correspondent, Rick Menniti, was there to capture this year's magic, so not only check out Rick's review and photos, but also have a look at today's Video Of The Day of Santana's 'Soul Sacrifice', filmed on the Thursday.

    With a review to come, world-renowned guitar virtuoso, Joe Satriani, recently completed his rescheduled 2023 UK tour at The London Palladium, following the release last year of his latest album, 'The Elephants of Mars', so check out today not only Les Linyard's exceptional photos from the gig, but also today's 'Surfing With The Alien' Video Of The Day, filmed on the night. Indeed, it marked the legendary guitarist’s 19th studio album in his 35+ year career in music, with the live shows featuring tracks from both his latest and previous release, 'Shapeshifting', plus many of his classic fan favourites, alongside his touring band, consisting of celebrated drummer Kenny Aronoff (John Fogerty), bassist Bryan Beller (Aristocrats), keyboardist Rai Thistlethwayte (Thirsty Merc) and, of course, Joe himself.

    It’s only eleven months since Walter Trout last played London's Islington Assembly Hall, but his return last Sunday, as always. was most welcome, particularly as this time, his support act was Californian guitarist Alastair Greene, so not only read today Gary Smith's considered take from the gig, but also check out Les Linyard's awesome photos plus Walter's 'Say Goodbye To The Blues' Video Of The Day, filmed on the night.

  • Stonedead Rocks! 29/5/23

    With the recent addition of very special guests, Black Star Riders, and now in its sixth year, carrying on its solid tradition of bringing both well-known and new Rock bands to Newark Showground, Nottinghamshire, this year Stonedead kicks off on 25th August with their Friday Party starting the Bank Holiday Weekend with a bang, followed by a mouthwatering line-up the following day (pictured), and today's 'Stonedead Rocks!' Tracks Of The Day feature six of the great bands taking part, namely Blue Oyster Cult, The Answer, King King, Mason Hill, South Of Salem and Kira Mac.
