For fans of Haken, Leprous, Dream Theater and Periphery, and following singles 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' and 'La Bikina', last month French Progressive Rock quartet with jazz touches, Synapse, finally released their brand new EP, 'Alter Echoes', of which another single, 'Force Your Way', from the Final Fantasy 8 video game, is today's Video Of The Day. Comprised exclusively of covers re-arranged with a "Prog/Synapse" twist, their shift on their last album towards a more powerful sound and a new way of composing, sees their latest release consisting of melodies in the "epic" genre with both a heavy dose of Rock plus Progressive passages on Jazz harmonies.

Earlier this year, not only did we review JD Simo's latest album, ‘Songs From The House Of Grease’, forty minutes of raucous stripped down Blues, but exactly four years ago today, JD stopped off at London's The Underworld in Camden, the penultimate night of his European tour, when we were lucky enough to interview the Nashville-based songwriter before the gig, which is today's Podcast Of The Day. Paying homage to the original, while adding a modern twist, Simo’s typically expert, yet passionate guitar work and powerful, soulful vocals are on full display on his latest album, with his trio that includes drummer Adam Abrashoff and bassist Todd Bolden.
