"All in all, a thoroughly enjoyable night. My first exposure (and hopefully not the last) to The Damn Truth, and a great performance from Mr. Hughes and his superb band celebrating a lot of music that was pretty much embedded in my DNA at a very early age." Eight years after Purple Zeppelin won our 2015 WRC 'Best Tribute' award, congratulations to the "voice of Rock", as Glenn Hughes Performs Classic Deep Purple Live has won our 2023 WRC award for 'Best Tribute', which we were lucky enough to review in October at London's Electric Ballroom in Camden, so check out today's Video Of The Day of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee's encore, filmed on the night.

- Long Road Home Win Best Unplugged 7/1/24
"But prior to that, we were treated to a thoroughly entertaining, somewhat semi acoustic set by 3/5 of Long Road Home… no keys or drums, but bassist Derek White, guitarist Steve Summers and vocalist Mike Sebbage played 30 or so mins of mostly original Blues Rock material (Bobby ‘Blue’ Bland’s ‘Ain’t no love in the Heart of City’ - yes; that one - being the only cover) that definitely deserves a bigger listen." That was part of our take when Long Road Home supported Focus at London's Bush Hall in April (pictured), and consequently the three amigos from the Rock quintet with Prog and Blues influences, have been voted Best Unplugged in our 2023 WRC Awards, as evidenced by today's Video Of The Day of 'Whispering Rain', taken from their debut album, 'Are We Invisible?'
