"The tour was to promote her new album ‘The Dirty Truth’ and it was clear that tracks on the album were very personal in nature and were aimed at the break up of her relationship with a “shitty” boyfriend – ‘Tried Tested and True’ is an incredibly strong Blues track which is really sung from the heart – not sure the hurt has completely gone though. Contrast this with the wonderful acoustic track ‘Almost Always Never’ which was written about her mothers battle with cancer – again sung with real feeling and you have two total contrasts from what most people associate with JST i.e. in your face Blues/Rock with ear splitting solos. Add in the fact that the new album includes some countrified tracks and you can immediately see that JST is determined not to be known as a one trick pony." Go to an updated Joanne Shaw Taylor Photo Gallery here which also includes John Bull's pics from Monday night, read the rest of Wrinkly's review here plus have a look at today's Federal Charm Vid Of The Day!

Today's Track Of The Day is last Sunday night's Route 66 broadcast with host Rory Auskerry spinning brand new tracks from Billy Gibbons (pictured at Wembley in June) and The BFG's, Buddy Guy and Joe Louis Walker. Keith Richards will release his eagerly anticipated 'Crosseyed Heart', his third solo album and his first in over twenty years tomorow! 'Crosseyed Heart' is a fifteen track masterclass encompassing everything that makes Richards one of the twentieth century's most celebrated talents - a musical journey that takes in Reggae, Rock, Country and the Blues. Consequently 'Trouble' - the fifth track on the album - is our Vid Of The Day!

Last weeks Route 66 show reached 14th and 16th respectively in both the Mixckoud Classic Rock and Blues charts! So why not tune into Rory Auskerry's show here at 6pm tonight and see what all the fuss is about? In the meantime - and as it's a Bank Holiday weekend - the WRC will have a slightly reduced service over the next few days - normal service will hopefully resume Wednesday!

Jim and Malcolm were back in action last Wednesday when they released their latest Blues Club podcast which is today's Track Of The Day. Among the bands on this weeks playlist are Buddy Guy, The Simon Kennedy Band (soon to be featured on our website) and Albert Cummings. Enjoy!

Just like London buses we guess - all quiet on the Western Front then three updates on this year's BluesRockfest all arrive at once. Yes, following the Rainbreakers live Track Of The Day on Wednesday and then news of Albany Down's WRC Christmas gig yesterday - lo and behold today's Video Of The Day is The Rainbreakers live at BluesRockfest and a superb cover of Free's 'Fire & Water'. Well worth the wait we think!

Given all the rumours - was this possibly the last time the WRC would ever see The Who live in London - and if so did they go out with a bang? And what about the undercard - Paul Weller, Kasabian and Vintage Trouble (recommended by member Steve B)? Well, Wrinkly The Silver's usual brilliant review is in the pipeline but in the meantime have a gander at our Vid Of The Day plus the pic above with more pics and vids to come. Watch this space!
