  • Slave City Aurora 14/12/24

    Over nine years since their previous studio album, Dutch Progressive Rock band The Aurora Project return next year with their brand new fifth studio album ‘EVOS12’ on Friday 21st February, of which the first album single, 'Slave City', was released on Thursday and is today's Video Of The Day. Inspired by bands like Rush, Pink Floyd and The Gathering, as well as being known for their concept albums and their dynamic live performances, unsurprisingly ‘EVOS12’ is the first of a two album concept, once again pushing the boundaries of Prog.

    A phenomenal talent and multi-instrumentalist who is criminally unknown on these shores, back in June we were lucky enough to catch Judith Hill at London's Bush Hall (pictured), following the release in April of the Grammy Award-winning vocalist and songwriter's deeply emotive new album, ‘Letters From A Black Widow’, of which her album single and today's Video Of The Day, 'Black Widow', is also one of seven nominees chosen from 365 this year, in our 2024 WRC Video Of The Year award, that also includes The Dave Foster Band ('Sleep Spindles'), Goodbye Meteor ('Destructuration'), PIG ('Crumbs, Chaos & Lies'), Parker Barrow ('Don't Tell Mama'), Fields Of Naecluda ('Circles') and Billy Morrison ('Drowning').     With musical influences varying from Progressive Metal bands like Dream Theater, Devin Townsend and Haken, to a Power Metal band such as Kamelot, After Lapse leave their mark on the Prog scene with the release today of 'Pathways', their Frontiers Music Srl nine-track debut album, of which the Spanish six-piece's album single, 'Thanks, But No Thanks', is also one of today's six of the best 'New Releases Friday Rocks!' Tracks Of The Day, complemented by five further similarly timed album releases today from Dom Martin, Illusion Force, Storace, Mickey Jupp and Blue Öyster Cult.

    Following the recent conclusion of the Blues-Rock resilient icon's eight-date UK tour, riding a creatively formidable wave following the release in March via Provogue/Mascot Label Group of his latest, raucous, wild and poignant twelve-track album, 'Broken', and ahead of hitting the UK road again next May for another six-date tour, last Tuesday Walter Trout stopped off at Switzerland's Mühle Hunziken in Rubigen as part of his sixteen-date Broken European Tour, so see today not only Marlène Rivet's Photo Gallery from Walter's gig, whom Marlène praised as "incredible", as well as his "wonderful" musicians, but also check out today's amazing 'Say Goodbye To The Blues' Video Of The Day, filmed on the night.

  • Milkfest '25 Rocks! 12/12/24

    Milkfest ’25 will take place next year at Indigo @ the O2 in Greenwich on Sunday 23rd February, bringing some of the biggest names on the UK Blues scene today for a one-day festival to raise money for The Brain Tumour Charity, the idea of The Milk Men, who not only want to celebrate the British Blues scene, but also feel passionate about raising money and awareness on this issue, and the quartet's latest single, 'Misty Road', taken from their Summer album 'Holy Cow', is one of today's six of the best 'Milkfest '25 Rocks!' Tracks Of The Day, featuring five other artists taking part, namely Dr. Feelgood, When Rivers Meet, Jo Harman, The Cinelli Brothers and Mollie Marriott.

    A preview of the quartet's second LP due to be released on Wild Punk Records, Sarajevo ‘84 are not Bosnian, they are from Granada, although the Alt Rockers new single, 'City Lights', exudes a British sound in the style of Franz Ferdinand or Wet Leg, of which this really catchy song, full of energy, rhythm and powerful guitars, is also one of today's six of the best 'Tuesday Rocks!'
