After queuing outside The Marquee in London's Wardour Street from midday, we were there in May 1976 after a rumour went around that the "surprise" band playing that night were Led Zeppelin, although it turned out to be their Swan Song label mates, The Pretty Things, but it was still a memorable night with Sidcup's very own John Paul Jones joining them on keys for an encore of 'Route 66', hence not only today's amazing Video Of The Day, but also the fact that today Madfish release the double LP, 'The Pretty Things + Live At The 100 Club' 60th anniversary. Celebrating six decades since their incendiary arrival, this double LP brings together two distinct yet complementary snapshots of The Pretty Things’ raw power and unfiltered spirit, with disc one revisiting their eponymous 1965 debut album, while the second LP features their live at The 100 Club performance in London in 2010.
