Back in June 1991, Mr Big's Paul Gilbert was invited to the Frankfurt Jazz Festival to trade a few solos with headliner Albert Collins, however, unfortunately Collins suffered a sudden health issue and was unable to perform, so Gilbert duly came to the rescue with a scorching five-song set of Jimi Hendrix renditions. And to celebrate its 35th anniversary, a re-issue of 'Tribute To Jimi Hendrix' will be released digitally for the very first time on Friday 12th June via Music Theories Recordings, of which the closer, 'Purple Haze', is one of today's six of the best 'Sunday Rocks!' Tracks Of The Day, complemented by five further recent and forthcoming releases from Garrow Hill, Tyler Gilbert, The Materia, Adult Leisure and Dick van der Heijde.
