Put together by the Modern Age Music Roots team, the inaugural Roots Fest, a showcase for a carefully chosen, eclectic range of new and established talent, takes place from 5pm today at 229 The Venue, in London's Great Portland Street, bringing together an unmissable selection of the country's best new Bluegrass, Country, Roots and Americana acts. Sponsored by Pistonhead Lager, BCMA, Music and Tours News and Central Press PR, the line-up includes award-winning, Manchester singer/songwriter Izzie Walsh, father and son songwriting duo Jack & Tim, Bluegrass/Americana collective Phillipa Hannah, 19-year-old live scene singer/songwriter Isabella Coulstock, Louisiana-born, New York-raised, now London-based, Americana singer/songwriter, Kate Ellis (Video Of The Day), and last, but not least, Máiréad, one of the brightest stars on the UK Country scene.
