With a hometown launch show taking place at Stockton's Georgian Theatre tonight, emerging four-piece The Larches today release their five-track EP, 'Nihilistic Majesties', channelling the weight and abrasion of Sludge Metal through a modern Alternative Rock lens, taking cues from the likes of Acid Bath, Eyehategod and Crowbar, balancing slow-burning heaviness with emotionally charged songwriting, of which their latest album single, 'Smother The Hero', is also one of today's six of the best 'New Releases 'Friday Rocks!' Tracks Of The Day, complemented by five further similarly timed album/EP releases today from Jonny Couch, V.B.O., Frostbite Terror, Meshuggah and Zan/Cody.
