The winner of our 'Cream - A People’s History' competition is Mark Griffiths of Old Cwmbran, who correctly answered that their 2005 London reunion shows took place at The Royal Albert Hall (see today's Video Of The Day), and Mark has consequently won a copy of the 380 page new book that tells the story of Cream. Through over 500 previously unpublished eyewitness accounts, 'Cream - A People’s History' brings together fan memories of the Sixties supergroup and plots the journey of guitarist Eric Clapton, drummer Ginger Baker and bass player Jack Bruce from their formation in 1966 to their split in 1968. The book has been compiled by music author Richard Houghton, who has previously published books on Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath, and includes first hand accounts of their original appearance at The Twisted Wheel in Manchester and their farewell shows at the Royal Albert Hall, along with memories of their long American tours and memories of the 2005 reunion shows.
