Having just wrapped up their US tour, not only did San Francisco Rock trio Black Rebel Motorcycle Club just kick off their 22-date UK and Europe headline tour, their first since 2017, that sees them playing London's Troxy on Wednesday 17th December, but they are also set to release via PIAS their 20th Anniversary Deluxe Box Set of their seminal album, ‘Howl’, next year on Friday 30th January, of which the title track, performed live last month at Phoenix, Arizona's, The Van Buren, is today's Video Of The Day. Originally comprising Robert Levon Been (bass, guitar, piano, vocals), Peter Hayes (guitar, bass, harmonica, vocals) and now Leah Shapiro (drums, backing vocals, percussion), 'Howl', their third album, originally released in 2005, was an unexpected curveball from the band’s previous releases, that saw the absence of the guitar-driven, reverb-and-white noise that characterised their sound, with them now embracing Folk, Blues and Gospel-inspired songs.
