We were there at London's Hammersmith Odeon way back in May 1976 for Kiss' Destroyer Tour, their first ever visit to the UK with support from Stray, so we're understandably gutted to learn yesterday of Ace Frehley's death at the age of 74, following a fall. So once again we let the music do all the talking with today's amazing Video Of The Day of footage of their very first UK gig, two nights earlier at the Free Trade Hall in Manchester, where allegedly Ace, Paul Stanley, Gene Simmons and Peter Criss turned up mid-afternoon in full make up and costume, after an impromptu performance just down the road on the back of a truck at Hyde's Fine Fare supermarket car park (now a Morrisons!).
