A Load Of Old Bull? 14/4/16

The jury will literally be out in Los Angeles next month when Led Zeppelin’s lead singer Robert Plant and guitarist Jimmy Page face trial over whether they stole the opening chords for their 1971 classic 'Stairway to Heaven'! The trial begins on Tuesday 10th May following a decision last Friday by US district judge Gary Klausner that the song and the 1967 instrumental 'Taurus' by the band Spirit were similar enough to be considered liable for copyright infringement. The lawsuit was brought by Michael Skidmore, a trustee for the late Randy Wolfe, also known as Randy California, who was Spirit’s guitarist and the composer of 'Taurus'.
