WRC Bulletin - January 2015
Happy New Year - 2014 Awards To Be Announced Shortly!
Watch this space on the impending launch of our newly upgraded website www.wrinklyrockersclub.com - which as well as better reflecting the current direction of the WRC - will also bring news of the winners of our 2014 WRC Awards! Again, in the meantime if you have any ideas, contributions or indeed anything that can help us in 2015 then by all means e-mail us at email@example.com
We also hope you had a great Christmas? As expected, life carried on in December at Wrinkly Towers with various gigs including The Pineapple Thief, The Replicants (pictured with support band The Echoes Not Negotiable) and Stone Blind (who supported Guns vs Roses). The only blot on the landscape was the cancellation of The Who gig at O2 Arena but December also saw our Christmas Wrinklycast plus the WRC backing a petition to block those who move in near live venues from submitting noise complaints.
Chantel McGregor To Headline BluesRockfest 2015
We’re still pinching ourselves – but yes Chantel McGregor will be headlining this year’s WRC BluesRockfest at The Red Lion, Gravesend, on Saturday 4th July. Not only that but also strengthening the bill even more are Little Devils, Albany Down and The Troy Redfern Band. Watch out for news of more bands to be added soon but in the meantime you can purchase your £15 tickets here.
Don’t forget that you can purchase last year’s brilliant Bluesfest DVD/CD for just a tenner plus £2 postage and packing by e-mailing firstname.lastname@example.org and we will do the rest! For a taster of what you can expect - click on these Moore & Kyle and Robin Bibi links.
Virgil & The Accelerators to appear in Red Lion Aperitif!
The WRC are also delighted to announce that the outstanding Virgil and The Accelerators will be headlining a BluesRockfest dress rehearsal at The Red Lion, Gravesend, on Friday 1st May. In conjunction with Leos Red Lion and SB Promotions, tickets are priced £10 and can be purchased here.
WRC to hit the ground running in 2015!
Talking of course about gigs – you can buy £5 tickets here in advance for our Blacktop Deluxe/Loose Moorings Valentine’s Night gig at The Fiddler’s Elbow, Camden, plus The WRC are off to see Aynsley Lister/Little Devils/Stark at the 100 Club on Tuesday 27th January (NOTE MEMBERS can purchase discounted £11 tickets by e-mailing email@example.com) plus the sold out Ryan Bingham gig at The Borderline on Monday 2nd February. We hope to see you there! Watch out also in January for a review of AC/DC’s new album ‘Rock or Bust’ by Wrinkly The Silver.
In the meantime, why not help us to get to 450 Facebook likes and 300 Twitter followers - or just simply just get your colleagues, friends and family to sign up for this bulletin by e-mailing us at firstname.lastname@example.org in order that we can continue to bang the ‘WRC’ drum!
WRC Pay Tribute!
Last month we announced that we had already lined up T.Rextasy as our Wrinklystock IV headliner for this year at the Mick Jagger Centre, Dartford, on Saturday 21st November. Similar to Wrinklystock III and the excellent Bohemians – it’s bound to sell out – so make sure you get your £21 tickets well in advance by calling the MJC Box Office now on 01322 291100!
Meanwhile, on May 16th next year WRC Promotions are hosting our inaugural DoppelgängerFest Tribute Festival in Bexley, Kent, and we are still looking for four tribute bands to take part in this Charity event. So if you know of anyone or you indeed think you have what it takes then email us at email@example.com with a quote (remember it’s for charity) plus any footage and info you have of the/your band!
Once again - A Happy New Year To You All
