Having seen the fun video for 'Cum On Feel The Noize' and with barely any other knowledge at all, a little gang of Wrinklies ventured out tonight to The Beaverwood in a very sunny Chislehurst.

What followed was close to mind blowin’ - Slady made up of four very talented ladies; comically named Gobby Holder, Gem Lea, Donna Powell and Davina Hill (remarkably sharing their surnames with the original Slade Members 😂🤣😂) brought the house down with a classic set of Slade hits with a few other numbers thrown in.

What was even more of a surprise was that Gem on lead guitar was playing her first gig with the band as she showed huge flair and virtuosity throughout. The rhythm section was a thing of beauty too - tight and driven in equal measures. Front person Gobby was a major tour de force - fantastically screamy and croaky, epitomising the spirit of the originals adding humour and guile to her outstanding vocals.

I won’t single out any individual songs as it was frankly, great throughout both sets. The overriding thing here was a huge sense of fun both on stage and off - smiles were everywhere… Slady from my viewpoint are highly recommended - check them out if you can….

Cum On Feel The Noize cos these girls certainly do Rock the boys….
