The 100 Club was filled with Blues fans for the April edition of Solid Entertainments ‘Tuesday Night Blues Club’, with John Montana performing. The atmosphere was tense at first as the trio took the stage, but all that was about to change!

The crowd found themselves coming closer and closer to the stage as the performance got started. The band's setlist was a combination of covers and original songs that were personal to John. Their version of ‘The Worst is Yet to Come’ was soulful and bluesy, while ‘I Wouldn't Treat a Dog’ had a hint of funk that got everyone grooving. ‘Catfish Blues/Moody Waters’ was a definite crowd pleaser, with Montana's guitar skills on full display.

The highlight of the night was undoubtedly John's original song ‘I Loved a Woman’. His emotional performance left the audience spellbound. The band's rendition of ‘A Day in the Life’ was also a standout moment, with John paying homage to his favourite artist, Jeff Beck. The performance of the track was filled with raw emotion and left the crowd in awe.

Throughout the concert, Montana interacted with the audience, making jokes and sharing stories of each song’s meaning to him between songs. He had a great connection with the crowd, and it was clear that he was passionate about his music. Charlie Kay on bass guitar and Ian Firth on drums provided the perfect rhythm section, keeping the beat steady and adding depth to the sound.

The set finished with a cover of The Rolling Stones’ ‘You Can’t Always Get What You Want’, which he weaved into his own style. Sadly this song was absolutely right, as the band then left the stage to cheers of “One more song!”. This only acts as more encouragement to come see him again later.

Overall, their set at The 100 Club was a fantastic night of Blues music. Montana’s performance, along with the rest of the band, was top-notch, and the setlist was carefully curated to showcase their talent. John will be touring more over the coming months, so make sure not to miss out!
