Jared James Nichols + Silveroller

Saturday 6th December 2025

The Underworld, Camden, London

Armed with nothing more than his signature Gibson Les Paul, a cranked amp and a microphone burning hot, as well as preparing for his fourth and most defining album, guitar powerhouse Jared James Nichols completed his European and UK headline tour with support from Silveroller at London's The Underworld last Saturday night.

Silveroller’s set was full of verve, grooves and great energetic moves from lead vocalist and frontman Jonnie Hodson. Channelling early Rod Stewart in his look and mic stand moves, it was as if Jonnie had been taught by Leaf Hound's mic stand master Peter French! Jonnie's sense of fun was infectious, and I also loved his psychedelic look and hair, as well as being great to capture on stage.

Sammy Murdock was also extremely competent on guitar, who loved shaking his head when not adopting his lead guitar stance! Joe Major thoroughly enjoyed himself also in the drum world hinterland of the stage, while Dylan Evans was smooth on bass, as well as Lucas Tadini on keys, who was very much in his Hammond zone, contributing to the upbeat vibrant sound.

Silveroller's shades of Rock and Soul infused set, showcased their tracks 'Hold', 'Black Crow', 'Nobody’s Business', 'Other Side', 'Trouble Follows Me', 'Come On, Come In', 'Silver Sun', plus a great version of Otis Redding's 'Hard To Handle'. Very watchable and sounding great, on tonight's evidence there's no doubt that those lucky enough to catch this short set, will want to come back for more!

As for Jared James Nicholls, Jared’s pumped up, tattooed physicality and flowing locks. dominates the visual. This is a man full of masculinity and testosterone when he plays his guitar, as his extended solos, riffs and terrific technical skill commanded the sound. Heavy, virtuoso and full of authentic US Rock and Blues Rock, Nicholls is a great guitarist, and tonight the crowd loved him, particularly when he went walkabout amongst them!

Indeed, so too this evening did Santiago Perrotti, the Argentinian guitarist from London based band Star Circus, who had also come along to savour Nicholls macho musical offering. Raw and Rock filled, I also of course loved his set which delighted and delivered both in equal measure, including his great new single 'Ghost', 'Easy Come, Easy Go', 'Hard Wired' and 'Can You Feel It?', which I did indeed Jared! Another highlight was 'Good Time Girl' as well as his wonderful encore of 'War Pigs' in tribute to Ozzy. Make sure you don't miss out on Jared James Nichols next time around and catch him on tour!
